Somewhere Over the Rainbow (75th Anniversary)

I know y'all are talking about the song, more so than the movie itself.....but that movie scared the crap out of me as a child. I've never been able to watch reruns of it, and didn't allow my son to see it in his childhood either. And I've never been able to analyze why, it just is what it is. That movie scares me.

I understand, but it's such a great metaphor for life. Life can be filled with dark forests, and winged monkeys, but we have our funny friends and our instincts and passions, and at the end, we realize that there's no place like home; that is, all that we need is right where we are.

My favorite story of all time. So many lines in the movie seem like they were written for me. I really have studied the story. I call myself Gypsy yet Dorothy would be better. One funny memory was when I was small and we would watch the movie on tv after we got a color tv, dad would tell me the beginning of the movie was black and white till they got color film for the rest.
