I'll tell you kids what---MSN "News" on my 'puter is very, very annoying. What it is, is the internet version of supermarket checkout counter tabloid gossip, teen magazines, and the Hollyweird Social scene. Just "stuff". If a Martian crew landed on earth, and the first thing they saw was MSN news, they would conclude that at least 1/2 of humanity was African-American, and 50% gay, and employed as Entertainers or Politicians, because of the unending concern for those segments of the population on there. Also, all articles seem as if they are written at the level of a very naïve and idealistic female highschooler, who has been assigned to write an essay about relevant current events. See? I admit, I get caught up in following through on an eye-catching leader for a story, all-too-often. Then, you get stuck in a slow download, and then slide shows and lengthy ads. That, and the bad journalism makes me steer clear--usually. That said, maybe I should see if they need another contributor-for-hire. I just know my writing skills are deficient enough to qualify.

I'm with you on that one to the point where this time I got a smaller fridge and I only shop with 1-2 reusable grocery totes. I quit getting a cart unless I'm picking up household items and pet food. So I'm only shopping for maybe 3 days at a time but we are better at eating everything in the fridge and I have a lot less salad fixings and fruit going to the compost.

My peeve is being asked to tell my honest and true feelings on a decision and then being chastised for not being 110% behind the decision.

Went to a website today and half of it was grayed out so I was unable to do anything. When I sent feedback, the site would not accept "very dissatisfied", I couldn't send it until I changed my answer to "slightly dissatisfied"! Way to bump up your customer satisfaction, Safeway.

Mmm, also, being told one day after I paid for a year of insurance that in fact they were not giving me the 9 months stated verbally to fix the problem that might cause a cancellation (from which they could keep at least 1/4 of the new premium I just paid). Stillwater Insurance, bunch of thieves.

Yark! I forgot my wallet on the counter at the post office! I was all busy stamping and mailing letters and worrying about getting back home to my sick pooch and went off without it.
Thank goodness, someone turned it in - minus $200. I had just been to the bank.

    Another little life lesson.

It's a good thing I don't have a job, so I can spend a lot of my time calling our medical insurance company and trying to figure out all the mistakes that are made. Seems like there's 1 a week. I'm always sooooooo happy when I only have to hold less than 20 minutes, and have a person I can understand.
I'm still getting bills from an appy I had in July. My insurance company paid everything (since I met the deductible), but then my former ins co. forgot to take us off their list of members.......so our newer company took back all the bills they'd paid. Now I'm dealing with that. Don't you wonder how the world even turns, with so many incompetent people out there?

Gardenarian........so sorry! I wish everyone could be honest.

People should learn how to be helpful when making an appt. Client calls the salon and wants a haircut with Deb. I ask when, she asks when is she available. I said at 2 today; no, she can't come at today. Tomorrow afternoon; no, she'll be out of state tomorrow and Sat. Wouldn't it have been easier if she just said "sometime next week" right off the bat?

Or they say "I'd like to make an appointment". OK, I assumed that, but give me a clue for when, what and with who. I have to ask them to find out---it's like pulling teeth with some of them.

Or, they call and when I ask when they'd like to come in, "Oh, now let me see...today is no good, tomorrow my daughter has ballet, the next day I'm working late, son has soccer practice on the weekend, I have a dental appointment on Thursday, etc." Don't they have some idea before they call?

left salad spinner too near the oven and it melted. Ended up having to buy a brand new salad spinner (nah they never have them at thrifts, last I got at a garage sale but that was pure luck) as I've become addicted to it.

Oh no! If I lost my salad spinner, life wouldn't be worth living! I hope they're still making them as good as they used to! Mine needs new brakes.

So true. I don't get that either. I'm the over-prepared one.

On Friday at work someone wanted a pre-auth to know if their sick cat would be covered by insurance. I asked the phone rep who spoke to the client twice what was wrong with the cat, I asked the clinic receptionist twice what was wrong, I asked for medical records twice. I went home still with not a single bit of info about what the problem was so couldn't complete the pre-auth. It's probably covered but nobody could give me one word. Not vomiting or seizuring or not eating. Nothing.
Thanks people. Hard to do an urgent request with no info.
