Has anyone here grown kiwi? I'm thinking of planting a couple of vines on one of the pergolas for shade and summer fruit. I'm in zone 5/6 so the zoning is fine, and i like kiwi.
Anyone have it? How are the leaves (size, looks, bug resistance)

Nope, we havent tried that. I figured it needed a warmer climate.
The ones I'm looking at are hardy kiwi and zoned to 3. Certainly doable here. they are smaller, kind of like large grapes, but fuzzless so you eat the whole thing. I've never tasted this kind, so I'll be looking for them maybe in specialty stores.
On another note, boy are y'all being slammed! My sister lives there and she texted me this morning saying it was at 5 inches and counting. We are a bit to the west and we got nothing. Just wind.
the snow here in the city is very wet, and I thought nk it may only be 2" -3". I plan to take the car out in a vit and I expect it to be like driving in rain. Im not going far.Originally Posted by peggy
