No disagreement there, Bae. Actually, anymore I think most larger towns and cities give access to more eco friendly meats, at a price. And rural people can often run across some one who knows someone who can sell a quarter of a beef or other local meats. It's just not the way it happens a lot of the time.

I don't know how things are other places, but there's sort of a minor food revolution around my area with more fake meats and dairy products in the stores and more people buying them or talking about buying them. I think someday there could be an expose of some of those things. The coconut and palm oils that are used in a lot of the fake dairy products, the high amount of salt that is in some of the fake meats, and the transportation effects of bring produce from half way around the world. It's no long a quinoa, kale and black bean vegan world, but a lot more processed foods.

It pays to know a little of the supply chain of what a person eats, no matter what it is.

Today my supply chain is dig the potatoes out of ground and eat them tonight for dinner.

(Unless we cave and go out for vegan ice cream!)

I'm pickling 20 pounds of garlic today.
How do you use this pickled garlic? I've only dehydrated it, or roasted and then froze it. And certainly not 20 pounds worth.

You are a refreshing exception to the norm, Bae.

For my own use, it makes great snacks, or served on a plate with other pickles and veggies, or in salad.

I also use preserved fruit and veggies as my go-to gift for people, so I make a lot and give it away.

The local food thing, I agree. They are labeling more things at the stores when they are local. I eat the local breads and try to find out about other foods. What I am frustrated with right now is the shampoos that are either all chemicals I have no clue about or are the health food type which includes ingredients from all over the planet.

Bae, I appreciate any effort we are all making to address our impact. It may look different in different places because that is what local is after all.

The trouble is that our society isn't really set up to allow very many people to live in this fashion.

I think any man (or woman) who lives with integrity and the courage of their convictions is sexy.

These guys don’t have any trouble with the ladies. But my favorite vegan celebrity, Peter Dinklage, isn’t on the list. But Milo Ventimiglia is there and he is quite the hunk.
