Photos from diving today. 20F air temp. Water is 50F year round.

I’m so pleased with how horizontal me and my tanks are. As they’re supposed to be! My new drysuit really stands out underwater.

I went diving on Saturday at the mine near Platteville, WI. Air temp was 0F when I got there. Water temp was 48F. We had a short dive (40min) as one buddy had a light issue and the other had a bit of a leak from drysuit zipper. It was still fun. Great to see friends I’d not seen since before Christmas. Yesterday was warmer, but 2”-4” of snow was forecast. The mine is on a county road miles and miles off the main road and it’s not a good road in dry weather.

It was so cold when we were done that our gear froze within 5 min out of the water. One of my regulators was frozen to the tank and wouldn’t unscrew. Had to do that at home. New drysuit kept me dry and I was toasty with heated vests and merino wool undies.

Exactly. Easy to social distant outside and you’re safe underwater.

I’m diving about once a month, which is good to keep my skills up. I’d prefer to dove more often, but buddy availability has been less than I would prefer.
