I have been thinking of bidet for our upstairs bathroom in Hermann. They seem to be popular. But then that bathroom will get the least use, so...maybe not.

My son said all the bathrooms in Vietnam have one and he loved it.

Many hotels in Europe have them. I had a step-aunt who put one in her bathroom in CT in the 70s, and I had no idea what it was or how to use it. I think if I were going to redo a bathroom today, I would consider one.

Got to use a bidet in Japan for 10 days and it was wonderful. They had some neat bathroom appliances there. Thanks for the reminder as I had forgotten these.

I should say that I’m thinking about a bidet attachment. Our bathrooms are so tiny that a separate bidet from the toilet would not be viable.

Are people actually putting in bidets instead of toilets?

It was the only option in the quality hotels in Japan which have very small but wonderfully efficient bathrooms. Not to be gross but once your bum is gently bathed in warm water, it takes no time getting used to it.

It just seems weird to have a wet butt).

So my realtor emailed me and said that the buyers sign Monday and it gets overnighted here . It will arrive late Tuesday morning. They will try to close both on Tuesday. Worst case is mine closes Wednesday.

I installed a bidet attachment on a toilet for my wife. It took some doing to adjust it from power wash to a more gentle stream, and there is no warm water option. On reflection, I probably should haven’t gone for the cheapest option. On further reflection, I shouldn’t have laughed when my wife shot into the air the first time she tried it.

Idahl, thanks for the laugh even as I commiserated with her discomfort and shock. Ewww, a cold jet!

I should probably try one before I go to all the trouble they have one installed. Given my lack of love for gadgets, it might be a figurative pain in the ass as well as a literal pain in the ass, ha ha.
