Won’t a double bed fit in your condo? I have a loveseat and one chair in my living room. We also use the dining room chairs for extra seats.

Yes it fits, but I like the look of a single bed. I’ve got a nice antique daybed that I want to use.

If anyone can find a photo of what happystuff is describing as "upholstered chairs that folds out into a bed" I'd like to see it as that would be a good thing for us.

Try the Google search term “convertible chair.” There are more expensive versions than these, but these will get you started.

I will see if I can get in touch with stepmother for the brand she has. She doesn't communicate quickly so I apologize in advance if it takes a while. I can also start looking as well. I do remember this one was upholstered in cloth and had "arms".

I did a google search on "upholstered sleeper chair with arms" and got several listings that were the same style. Example: https://www.raymourflanigan.com/livi...E&gclsrc=aw.ds

These are, then, just smaller versions of the old hide-a-bed sofas with metal structure.

My problem with these is that they weigh a ton.

They do weigh a lot, but less than a full sofa bed - lol. Interesting coincidence - saw one of these at Big Lots today. Ran about $500.

    I like this one:

Also, I'm eyeing a selection of twin-size iron beds from Benicia Ironworks, which I suspect would be heavy enough to anchor a yacht.
