Interesting that you would post this at this exact time. I've been going through old photos his morning and just found these of my youngest grandson at the site of Lewis's death. These were taken 10 years ago on a trip along the Natchez Trace. (It appears I'm on a picture sharing kick today, I'll stop now, Promise!!)

Wow, Alan! How random is that?

Danisi went up against Stephen Ambrose for god’s sake. Pretty amazing chutzpah he’s got.

so, did you see any evidence in the Lewis cabin to form you opinion about how he died? Razz link cites one theory.

I had literally just finished looking at those pics before coming back here and seeing your post. Weird!
No, there's not much evidence of anything left in the house as it's been restored, probably several times, for the benefit of those of us traipsing through 200 years later. I do recall literature there concerning the mystery of suicide vs murder and the informational signs posted about the property refer to it as an "untimely death".

Supposed to get hit with an ice storm yesterday, so Thursday night they cancelled school for Friday. Custodians still need to show up regardless, but it is to a pretty much empty building and - for me - day hours instead of night. So Friday I got to work early hours with the day guys and do some work I never have time for during the night shift. It felt good to get a few things accomplished, leave work during daylight hours AND - NO ICE!!!
