    Accuracy of Covid Tests

Has anyone heard about the validity of the Rapid Covid Tests?

My neighbor had two positives on the rapid tests. Zero symptoms.

He was skeptical so he got the PCR Test-- the so-called "gold standard" test at the health dept.

The PCR Test came out negative. He's never developed symptoms.

He did all the testing as he wanted to visit his aged mother and not bring Covid with him.

He did go on his visit and his mother is fine as is he.

My son and dil had that happen with one box of the rapid tests. They both got PCRs and they were negative, and they did not come down with any symptoms. He had cancelled a business trip to Chicago but they were relieved as they wanted more time together anyway.

I read today if the tests are in below freezing temperatures it can ruin them. The reagent freezes. So much for the ones delivered to my home and the rest of the north.

I was wondering how that would work. The instructions on the box were very specific about the temperature range that the tests needed to always be kept within.

Even people who live in temperate climates could be affected if the tests were shipped by truck from an inhospitable climate.
