That is really scary jp1! Yet people still keep blinders on as to what is going on. They do not look because they don't want to see.

Yes. Inflation, crime, border chaos and fiscal lunacy are a mere smokescreen to obscure the real issue of the cosmic battle for America’s soul. The Democrats understand this, and will continue the good fight even if they have to financially prop up candidates to give them someone to fight.

I read JD Vance's memoir Hillbilly Elegy, and was appalled at his dysfunctional background of rampant drug and alcohol abuse, violence and gleeful grifting. And today, every time he opens his mouth he seems to betray his miserable beginnings.

“This is one of the great tricks that I think the sexual revolution pulled on the American populace, which is the idea that like, ‘well, OK, these marriages were fundamentally, you know, they were maybe even violent, but certainly they were unhappy. And so getting rid of them and making it easier for people to shift spouses like they change their underwear, that’s going to make people happier in the long term,’” Vance said. (at a high school in California in September)

    I'm very surprised the
Republicans and democrats are not listening to the American people. Most people are not for an abortion ban. Hence Kansas and Michigan with ballot initiatives.
Most people want law and order and safe police protection. Why don't both democrats and Republicans denounce blm protesters and Jan 6 protesters who injured and fought police and destroyed property. Both parties should denounce all violence.
Instead of endless investigations why not get affordable healthcare and revise our immigration laws. Why in the world in this day and age do we still have birthright citizenship? Who agrees with sanctuary cities?

I think they all have gone crazy and we are the ones who pay as nothing gets done. Here in FL I cannot even watch TV. The political ads are all hateful scaremongering getting of how bad the opponent is and some of the statements are downright lies. Truly a sad state.

Most people don’t want a complete abortion ban, and most states don’t have one. Most people don’t want abortion allowed until and including the ninth month of oregnancy, and most states don’t allow it. I think it’s good that states are now having to work through this thorny issue on their own.

I Think you are wrong about sanctuary cities. There seem to be plenty of people who like them or at least like the idea of them. I think it is hilarious that some of these border city mayors are shipping bus loads of their illegal immigrants to the mayors who have Sanctimoniously prattled about their love of illegal immigrants.

But who would determine what “the truth” is? That is a thorny issue. The Twitter etc. platforms are having all kinds of problems with that concept. Perhaps our president should reopen his Politburo of Truth and Beauty or whatever it was called.

As I understand it, sanctuary cities exist to keep local law enforcement from being tasked with harassing people who might be undocumented. Pursuing non-criminals, shaking down people, ID checks etc. cost cities money they'd rather spend fighting crime. I've seen very few proponents of "open borders," like I've seen very few proponents of "abortion on demand," but they make effective Republican talking points.

This does not address your direct point, but the city of St. Louis became a “sanctuary city for reproductive rights” when the board of alderman voted to do that a few years ago.

Yes, that kept law-enforcement from chasing down those reproductive criminals. Because there’s so many of them and the cops had been spending so much time on it! and Lord knows our City prosecutor just spent all of her resources on those cases.

    N. O. T.

this is my sarcastic way of saying sanctuary cities are stupid, but somebody likes them. I can assure you that cops and city prosecutors are under no obligation to carry out laws the feds say they must, let alone state laws or even their own city laws. I witness it every day.

And sadly, in today’s aldermanic race, that champion of St. Louis as sanctuary city for production rights is running against my favorite alderman for alderman president. The nutjob will probably win.

My County is a "Nuclear Weapons-Free Zone" and a "GMO-Free Zone"...

Oh, and I just double-checked the list, we're also an "Immigration Sanctuary County".

Makes sense, since we're right on the border, in the midst of traditional smuggling routes...
