I'm really hoping our little volunteer fire department will host a town-wide potluck Thanksgiving dinner this fall. It was canceled for the past two Thanksgivings due to Covid. It was really a wonderful way to have a Thanksgiving dinner and see a bunch of people, share the duties and not feel like the onus is on any one person! The best part is you can leave any time you want when you've had your fill of socializing!

This is similar to what is done at the senior mobile home park we go to in TX. It is so much fun!

This is huge for me so I need lots of accolades. I demand all the accolades!!!

Background: I’ve been dancing around for 5 years moving files from our old creaky HP computer to a Mac environment. My first Mac computer experience, a very expensive one, did not go well. I will admit that it was likely 90% user problems but by the time I rescued it from being on the shelf for a couple of years after giving up on it, it wasn’t reliable. And I couldn’t get it to fail in front of the Apple techies.

So I cashed it in and bought a less expensive Mac Air. And now that we are through our move of houses and I am finished with flower show obligations, I made myself sit down for four weeks to figure out how to bring these files over.

Long story short, it is going well. I’m halfway done with 100 of my files now safely stored on my Mac computer and also in the Icloud, but I have learned that I really need a back up system, ICloud is not intended for that. OK whatever, I can deal with that later.

TLDR: Digital transfer of files from HP computer to Mac is going well. Major life project a success.

This project has been half assed for so long I don’t know what I’ll do with myself when I have files all in one place, neat and orderly.
