Iris L. It is now a crap shoot on how food will be in a restaurant. Cooks/chefs change on a whim and the food is dependent on who is cooking for a particular meal. We have a local chain that is consistently dependable. They keep the menu very small. Even they gave my husband an inedible meal. However, they made it right and we still visit them for all important occasions. Somehow they are able to hire the best servers too.

Okay---I had a yummy bowl and a half of Granola Raisin Bran from the nearby discount plus grocery. But yeah---these are a little different than Aldi'Granola Raisin Bran. Both are real good. Last coupler days, I've had some very greasy foods, and the cereal today does my system good. Anyway--you kids oughtta try it. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Homemade Mac and cheese tonight. Completely unhealthy since a 2 serving meal of it has 8 ounces of cheese and a cup of heavy cream but the sauce is tasting quite good…. I’ve always been disappointed with previous attempts at this but the heavy cream seems to make all the difference. Kind of like when a friend thought her cereal was tasting especially good one day and then realized she’d poured the half and half for her coffee on it instead of 2% milk.

I made that yesterday, but with hamhocks. I really like split pea soup!

Made kielbasa and sauerkraut last night. Tonight will be pre-made stuffed peppers.

It's been awhile since I implemented my Wednesday night salad and yoga plan. On Weds nights, I do a yoga class via Zoom offered for free from my local library. I make a salad for dinner because it's light and healthy (I learned the hard way that a rich and heavy meal before yoga is not a good thing). DH doesn't like salads that much, but I've learned it's the lettuce he really dislikes, so I make him sort of a crudité bowl and he is OK with that. I envision continuing this for the long haul because it means on Wednesdays we derive the following benefits:
We don't have to wonder what is for dinner
    Dinner is healthy
    The chef gets a break

Same with my DH. He is much better now because I use a lettuce knife to cut up the lettuce. It is more palatable to him because the leaves are not so large. YLMV

Just dumped some chicken legs, potatoes and carrots into the cp. It's REALLY full! Hopefully everything cooks okay.

I stopped into the international food store a couple days ago in St. Louis. I have not been in several years. I picked up cans of hummus and jars of red pepper spread. I love that stuff. I spread it on tortillas, add a little bit of spinach, and it’s good.
