Okay----The Bike People here tend to be consumeristic and progressive, which really means: new stuff and change-for-changes-sake. See? But yeah---Even though it makes mee kind of an outlier and atypical, I can benefit. See---every now and then on 417 People used bikes & parts(which doesn't get a lot of traffic), I find some used components I can use to truly upgrade and maintain my old 1980's bikes. See? Last summer, it was a set of barely-used pedals for a deep discount, from a lady at the college. The other day, it was a wheelset from a 30-ish guy who had to dispose of them. He's had them advertised for several months, and finally lowered the price. But yeah---$65 was pretty cheap, considering the benefit. So anyway---I went to the nearby big-box parking lot to get 'em. What I'll use 'em for is a Trek 1200, year model 1989, that I've had for about 6 or 9 years. Paid too much for it, in the fist place, but it's my size and a classic. Thing is---with people here in biking---they are consumeristic and progressive; i.e newer is not only better, but essential. See? But, it's all in their heads. So anyway---I know you kids might react: How many bikes you got, already, Bobby? Do you really NEED more bikes? Well, it depends on what you mean by Need. Anyway---the price for those excellent-but-out-of-fashion weelz COULD have covered the cost of a yummy rest-o-rant meal or even a cheap tickick to see some elderly rock band on tour or something like that. But hey---those weels are hardware, that if I'm careful, will be serviceable for quite awhile. L:ike: don't hit any rocks or curbs. Yup. See photo.2023-04-20 (3).jpg

Well you probably need bikes like I need pottery. I think one could make the case in both instances that we are occupying/entertaining ourselves and building skills, so it's not quite the same as just acquiring crap and piling it up in the closet/cellar/shed for someone to weed through after we die.

TYVM,RR. Okay----Is there a special process you can use to make pottery items microwave safe? Anyway--the project I just described is for a road bike; a trainer for the weekly ride. But guess what? The Cool People decided we don't NEED no northside-based ride; why haul our bikes waaaay up there, to ride? Well, I can ride to the starting point from my hillbilly shack; it's only 9 miles, do the course and be back before dark. BCMonster nice, new vehicles, with those super-high-priced bike carriers on the back, that are sold by a local company. I just put mine in the back of my hatch back, the one I hauled three file cabinets in a couple weeks ago. There is a certain format for a certain type of people, that I silently refer to as "Hoe-Heads"So anyway, what a hoe-head does, is think of themselves as very practical and pragmetic and down-to-earth. But in reality---they place following the form, before function. See? They are monkey-see, monkey do. That being said, you don't have to take it upon yourself to try and change them, because you will only alienate them. But yeah--you can benefit by making choices that aren't based upon THEIR decision-making process. It's pretty much the same with about everything. Lawn care, as well. I mean---there's an optimum amount of Yard Work!! that should be done to control vegetation. After that--it's just virtue signaling, and a waste of your resources. So anyway---two years ago--no three---I had a bike project that I spent prolly 3-4 months on(not continuously), using a bike that had sat out back for 15 years. It was intended specifically for trail-riding. Yup. I gathered parts(new and used), painted the frame, put it all together, and took it for a test ride on my road loop. GGuess what? That was the last time I rode it. It's just sitting there, waiting for me to try again. I've been on the RR to bike trails, using my old road bikes. Yup. But, it is hard on them and on mee. Gonna hafta figure out the issues with my failed trail bike project. See? Hope that helps you kids.

Okay----You kids all know my opinion about Car Jocks in Iwah who Drive-N-Eat, just for something to "do". But yeah----here's a sample from one o' my case studies. They drove their gas-guzzler a 120 mi. RT, just to feed their already obese face. Hope that helps you some.2023-04-28 (5).jpg

Hmm, if I was looking for something different to eat, I doubt I would go looking for it in a sports bar.
I confirmed that our pottery is microwave safe. We don't have a microwave oven, so the question had never occurred to me.

Okay---The latest ho-head movement is focused on having one a these bicycle transport "Racks" on the back o' your monster vehicle, so you can haul your plastic bike to some other locale that has dirt roads. But yeah---that way, you can get in the way of non-biking localbillys as they DRIVE ta town fer supplies on THEIR roads or trails! But see---you're a "Beta" if you just have a used bike "Rack" from that same company, steada a $1300 unit! See? That company also has a video ad online showing a late-middle aged geezer like mee out in his subdivision loading his bike on his "Rack" and waving cordially at the fit 40-something gal neighbor as she drives by. So anyway---the high-end rack in the product line is so-named a "Piston", if you get the drift. Just betcha our local, spendy Ukrainia Emigre' has several of them, already. Ha. That's Marketing, for ya. Sfd is chock-full O' hoe-heads--mainly on the south side. My cheap little Accent(rhymes with "accident") with the Alice-in-wonderland "the hurrier I go....." quote on the back window just infuriates them. It's considered a Beta Car, fer sure. Hope that helps you kids some. See photos.2023-04-27 (3).jpg2023-04-27 (3).jpg2023-04-29 (6).jpg2023-04-29 (7).jpg2023-04-29 (9).jpg

Okay---I been shopping for a nice truck to haul my bike, so I can ride on a nice dirt road, sowewhere. . Like we say---pavement is for pussies. Alphas Ride Unpaved. Yup. Ha. So---here's one I could "trade"(get screwed) for. As long as I can make the mortgage payments on it, what else matters? But yeah---whatta ya think o' that? See photo.2023-04-28 (7).jpg

Okay----I happened to see this photo og Taylor Swifts' childhood home. I guess it is a style called: Dutch Colonial. But yeah---the way I can relate to that factoid is the the former Defeo Family home on Long Island, NY(Amityville, NY) is a Dutch Colonial-style hom. So anyway---at some point, subsequent ownners of the former Defeo home made a change to the two windows on the third floor, that were originally sort-of trtiangular. Now, they are square-shaped. But---here's a couple photos.2023-04-30 (5).jpg2023-04-30 (6).jpg
