So the house near you will have 9 adult men in recovery... we had a sober house in our suburban neighborhood that housed a handful of women and it was not a problem at all. If they are "working the program" and are straight out of a rehab situation, I'll bet they won't give you much reason for concern. They might be standing outside on the sidewalk smoking a lot, but generally speaking, if they are staying sober, they are just living their lives and if they start drinking, someone--whoever is responsible for the sober house--will kick them out.

yes, they will certainly get kicked out if they don’t stay sober. It will look like a parking lot there. It’s the nicest street in Hermann the County Commissioner said when he came to hear the spiel about this place. Maybe no more.

I doubt that they’ll stand outside on the sidewalk to smoke because I THINK the house has a outdoor deck in back. And yes, I definitely thought about a whole bunch of smokers hanging out there and I’m glad I don’t live right next-door. The lady next-door is already dreading that possibility.

A bunch of men standing around on the sidewalk smoking, would not be acceptable to me. At all, ever.

Had guys come to give estimates for a screened in porch… saying supply problems still exist. Probably will not get stuff needed until October….

Looked on line at a store location that I was going to … took pictures of everything I wanted. Turns out it shows on line in stock but actually NOT. Got 0 of 3 things I wanted. What a waste of time. I HATE SHOPPING!

Three weeks post-carpal and cubital tunnel surgery release and it feels like healing is going backwards, not forwards. This surgery has been quite painful and debilitating for me, which I wasn't quite expecting. I thought I was a pro at wrist and hand surgeries, considering I've had five different procedures in the past five years. Nerve pain is much worse than bone pain.

Thank you for letting me vent. It's been a long, frustrating odyssey. My biggest fear is that even/if when I heal up, I won't be able to do the type of heavy metalsmithing that I had been doing, which means letting go of my business, or to be able to do any other job that requires arm strength and dexterity. I'm actually sort of considering taking early retirement when I turn 62 in October so I have some sort of reliable income, but having only worked retail-type jobs my entire life it won't be that much. Even if I wait until I'm 65 it's only about $200 more.

There is a lot to consider on how to reinvent myself (once again) in my sixties. I had no idea that my arms, wrists and hands would get so debilitated over the years. Luckily, K works in IT so he can always provide a comfortable income but I have the need to be able to contribute to our expenses.

Now I have to go get ready for my relatively boring job of gallery-sitting today. I really need an attitude adjustment to get out of my funk today.
