Not exactly a purge, but speaking of pet beds I recovered mine that I made several years ago and thew out the old covers which looked ratty. I bought one fleece cover and used one from my mother's room, sort of fleecy velour, and they love that one. The new one one, a fake sheepskin, they are not so crazy about.
Ended up having to get rid of my curling iron this morning. Went to plug it in and heard a pop and then sparks flew from it. Didn't want to risk even turning it on so it was trashed. I thought about getting a new one but I'm going to see how I do without one. I only use it to straighten my bangs each morning but I just wet them this morning and it seemed to do the job just was well as the curling iron.
One of my cats got fat shamed at the vet on Tuesday (It wasn't as shock) so I need to make a change in dry food to one higher in protein and lower in carbs. I am going to bag up the remaining dry food and walk it over to my neighbor's house who feeds stray cats/kittens that live in our woods. New dry food should arrive this weekend/early next week. Hopefully this helps get his weight down to a more healthier level. Currently at 21 lbs so we've got a ways to go!!

Mine are 5 and 8 lbs, little guys. Even my last fat cat was around 12 lbs, I woukd guess.
My parents had the largest, fattest cat I have ever seen. He came to them as a stray kitten and the best we have been able to figure through asking grandchildren when they first remember the cat, he lived to be 27 or 28 years old. As in they remember him from when they were 3, and he died when they were over 30. It was the weirdest thing.
Vet didn't give a specific number but Google says 10 lbs. My other cat is 13 lbs and she looks to be a more healthier weight. The fat one would rather lay on the cat tree and watch birds than move around more than he has to. The other one "patrols" the house all day and night meaning she is constantly walking around each level of the house making sure everything is in order. Haha!
Wow! 27 or 28?? I have never heard of a cat living that long. I thought I was doing good getting a cat to 21 years old. Our other two died within months of each other and they were only 14. One had kidney failure and I can't remember what was wrong with the other one but they went downhill really fast. Literally one day they appeared ok, the next day they were yowling in pain and had to be put down.
I never had a cat get to 14! My son's cat was born in 2006 and acts pretty sprightly--hops up in your lap still.
My parents' cat was fed constantly from the table, and they didn't worry about his weight.
Just like humans, carrying extra weight isn't good as they get older so I'd like to get him to drop a few pounds and maintain it. I spent a lot of time yesterday researching dry food with lower carbs and higher protein which helps with weight loss. Some were pretty expensive. I think I've found one that won't break the bank. I also ordered a toy that I'm hoping will get him up and moving more than the ones I already have. It's similar to the Da Bird brand toy which I've bought in the past but he went feral over it and was growling and hissing while playing with it. Freaked me out as well as his sister. I was afraid he'd have a heart attack because he'd get himself so worked up, he'd be panting from exhaustion.
Finally figured out I have too many outdoor chairs- I’m always shuffling them. Today I decided which 4 needed to go, set them out at the curb with a Free sign, they were gone within the hour!
