I mostly grill outside most of the year, but we are under a total burn ban here now, due to excessive heat, very very dry vegetation, and high winds. No grilling, no lawn-mowing, no metal implements used on the ground to avoid sparks, etc etc.

I mostly eat salads. I like to make julienne cut of carrots, cucumbers, zucchini and bell peppers

I got the Breville recommended here (well originally I got it for relatives whose stove was broke, and then later I got one myself). I have the Duxtop induction burner shown here (it's the one that gets all the good reviews in America's Test Kitchen etc.). So I mostly cook with electricity, except if I need two burners or am cooking something quite large (say a turkey on thanksgiving) then I'll use the gas stove that came in this apartment.

I have thought of getting another Duxtop or a two burner Duxtop, but considering running one single burner Duxtop on high AND the Breville at the same time can flip the breaker, I've kind of figured this place doesn't really have the wiring for that.
