Our lovely neighbor plowed our driveway last week. Like IL we are the old people in the neighborhood...not a bad thing. This morning the snow we had for 2 hours laid and inch of so, but the marvelous sun took care of it. Now if only the wind would die down. Power went out for 2 hours yesterday.

In the neighbors helping neighbors department, we had our next door neighbors for dinner last night. They gifted me peach moonshine in a Mason jar that one of their relatives had made. I love that I live in a place where I get homemade peach moonshine in a mason jar as a hostess gift. Why did I ever think I wanted to live in Manhattan?? BTW, it's DELICIOUS.

I do not think I would enjoy peach moonshine, but Catherine , I’m glad it’s tripping your trigger!

It's better than you think! Very smooth and peach-y. But I get it--when I think moonshine I think rot-gut. This one is not like that. But what I really like is the idea of of my neighbor's stepsister with her still hidden in the woods, making jars of the stuff.

Our main grocery store changed hands and has new owners. It seems to be extraordinarily cheaper. I don’t know for sure since I didn’t do an item by item cost comparison, all I know is, I went in to do our usual grocery shopping, which is usually a tad over $100 and this time it was $78.

everyone around town is saying it’s cheaper. It’s also more upscale, there’s a greater variety of fruits and vegetables.

it looks to be a winner!

This is great, because our “save a lot” closed ( discount store) last summer. At that time before its closing we had three grocery stores in our small town of 2500 people, so that was really good. Now we’re down to two and that’s OK.

This is a rave I guess?

Last week DH started work on our living room. A week later, he is halfway done. Good Lord this is going fast. He says “well sure it is going fast because there’s only three windows and one doorway to make trim for.“

I’m used to him working for months on other areas of the house that have many many doorways and many windows.
i’m going to have to make decor decisions much sooner than I have planned. This is very stressful.

I could slow him down by taking time out to build picture frames for all the art I’m buying. If you all think I’m going to pay current prices to frame all these pieces y’all have another think coming. I put framing in the same category as flying first class, not gonna happen.

Absolutely loving my new primary care direct doctor and the care model. It is the best medical care I have had since I was young. I am so glad I took the risk and am paying the monthly fee.
