I love my K. dearly and the fact that he will readily do the dishes without being asked but just had to show off an example of his "Dishwashing Jenga Skills Du Jour." It is actually very difficult for me to untangle all of this without sending the clean silverware clattering to the floor. Also, at some point during dishwashing job he completely zones out and wanders away, as evidenced by the remaining silverware and salad bowl sitting in the dirty water on the washing side of the sink.
Having dirty gunk left like that overnight used to really skeeve me out but I have learned to let go and it doesn't bother me nearly as much. I will take care of everything in the morning since I have the time these days. House stuff just isn't in his daily wheelhouse but he takes up the slack in many, many other ways - I think we get along so well because we are such complete opposites in so many respects that when all blended together stuff gets done, one way or another.
My goal this morning is to see if I can extract all the silverware to put away in the drawer without dropping any...
