I've had five shots, plus covid once. My doctor thought the last round of recommended booster for seniors was overkill, but I'll probably get a booster this fall along with the flu shot if that's what's recommended. I had a vaccinated friend get pretty sick from covid this spring, so it's not over and I don't think the vaccination protection lasts forever. It's not ever been a big deal to get the shot.

When I had covid about a year ago the recommendation was to isolate for five days and mask for another five. Some of the newer more liberal recommendations don't make a lot of sense to me.

Have to go to a funeral on an island and it's been 2 months since the person died. Really wish people would have funerals within a week of the death. I told my husband if I go, get it over with within one week so people can get back to their lives and not have it hanging over them. Rent an air b n b for the kids and let them get together and cook and do the shiva thing. There's a lot of wisdom to that.

When I was a kid, you had two full days at the funeral home and then the morning of the funeral. I remember having to sit at the funeral home for two long summer days when I was about 11 when my great-grandmother died. I had to beg to be allowed to bring a couple of books with me. As it was, I got severely scolded by older relatives for reading during the visitation. What did they expect me to do?

These days, it’s one evening of visitation, plus a bit before the funeral and that’s it.

I plan to be cremated so really just maybe a party with my ashes in a corner somewhere. Eat, drink and be merry! Although I hope to have a playlist of songs that will drive some folks crazy!!!

Happy, that sounds nice. That's kind of how the funeral was, which was nice. And my granddaughter brought a book, Tradd!

I am BUMMED! Today got an email that the library will be discontinuing Hoopla! I use it every day!!!! I liked it in that if you saw something you wanted, you got it right away.... otherwise most times have to wait. I dislike Libby which is where the library is referring everyone to. Guess I will have to check alternative sources... Audible?

My library did away with Hoopla a year or two ago.

My rant: D&C tomorrow. Yuck. No baths for two weeks. I live in the tub. Showers Ok.

I am sick and tired of people bellyaching about how much their homeowner's insurance has gone up. These are people who CHOOSE to live in California (wildfire prone areas) or in FL/Gulf Coast. Don't want to pay such high costs, then move to an area that isn't prone to those natural disasters.

Costco did not have the organic hamburger it usually carries. Talked to the meat dept and was told they are pushing the grass fed beef. Bought some and it is gross! Used it for taco soup … the meat does does crumble easily and remains in larger “clumps”. I plan on taking it back…. waste of time and ingredients!
