I would think that would take care of the "He's afraid to debate her" talk but there's probably too much propaganda value in maintaining the illusion of fear.

At this point, I'm thinking there won't be any debates at all among presidential contenders since Trump's team wants him to stick to issues rather than personal attacks and Harris' new team want's to limit her to scripted public speaking whenever possible. We may have to settle for the #2 spots verbally slugging each other for our entertainment.

The NYT Daily podcast episode today has an in depth look at Walz.

Nothing amazing about it. I don’t think even Democrats would deny Walz is more Progressive than most. He dithered over his response to the 2020 riots so badly even he referred to it as an “abject failure”. He has the requisite hostility to school choice, and a Sanctuary State that provides health benefits and issues driver’s licenses to people here illegally. I think his left wing credentials are stronger than any governor except maybe Newsom, which is why he’s on the ticket.

To his credit, he started the “weird” campaign against Trump/Vance. It’s a refreshing change from the tedious Nazi stuff.

JB Prickster, the IL gov, is very far left. However, he’s Jewish and a billionaire, so he doesn’t have the relateableness thay Walz has.

Jewish candidates are a problem for the Dems right now.

I am very pleased with Walz on the ticket. So pleased I may even buy this:

I know we're living in the age of identity politics on a grand scale but I've never put much stock in anyone's ability to determine a person's core beliefs based upon race, gender, religion, party identification or vocation. It's their statements and accomplishments that tell you who they really are, and Walz has proven himself to be far left, which seemingly compliments Harris' far left statements and accomplishments prior to about 2 weeks ago. They're both Bernie Sanders on steroids without the courage to append their party identification with the Socialist moniker.

Maybe if Walz had implemented UBi or single payor healthcare one could credibly claim him to be radical left. What he’s done only qualifies as radical left because republicans have pushed the Overton window hard to the right over the past several years.

And it’s weird that trump is now not willing to go on ABC but was fine with doing so before. Any person thinking rationally would have to consider that his new excuse is probably a lie because he’s a fraidy cat to debate the childless cat lady.

The really fun debate is going to be the VP debate.

I'm not sure what metric constitutes a moderate democrat vs. the far left, but in the bigger picture, Trump and now JD are lying about the 2020 election peaceful transition of power and Trump is still a criminal. It's all relative, but it's still interesting to speculate and discuss. I'm looking forward to the debate, also. Biden has sort of dropped off the radar.

I do like the hat. I see where Walz drives an old pre-1980 HI Scout and also has black lab named Scout. As a collectible, it might be more valuable that an Escalade, but I like the image.

Well you know, Since moving to VT, many of my friends are hunters and fishers. As a result, my style choices have evolved since my Ann Taylor days!

Seriously--this is a great marketing example of how a simple hat can be worth a thousand words.
