Way to go, you getting some sales going. Those Lego sets must be taking up room.

Sold my first Lego set! It's very motivating to get the rest of the sets put together and listed online.

Good for you! My son had so many legos-- now the grandchildren don't have any, it's weird. Maybe it skips a generation.

Yesterday was a good day! Spent a significant amount of time online at SS and finally got applied (hopefully correctly!). Since meeting with the finance guy a couple days ago, I finally have a better handle on retirement accounts for both dh and myself. I am/have been re-organizing into better files and shredding stuff I no longer need to keep. Feels good to be organized!

Yesterday, I made all the phone calls!
    • Social worker regarding Mom (just a status update)
    • Mom's pulmonologist for appt (thankfully he will do a virtual visit, just need him to continue to prescribe her asthma meds)
    • National Grid to replace Mom's gas meter (something they require every 7 years)
    • Magazine vendor regarding one of Mom's subscriptions

This was all Mom stuff. I spent a surprising amount of time on hold and going through AI phone screening trees, despite the fact that my call was allegedly VERY IMPORTANT to them!
Then I dealt with the ongoing Tracfone mess, but that was not Mom related, and I may document that in the rants thread.

    • Completed the week's grading for four classes, including a set of essays, and dealt with two AI generated essays
    • Got my old mac laptop out of the attic and charged it up and it said the date was prior to 2001; knew it was old, but not that old, and it seems to be working
    • Donated another woodstove to the Southwest Indian Foundation--my goal is one stove a year and I did it last year so now I am caught up for this year, and have talked my husband into saving up his tithes and doing one a year too!

I’ve drove to the city to offload some thing I bought for $250 a few weeks ago and I hate it. So I offered it to a fellow collector in the city of St. Louis. I was in the city anyway for various errands.

Tybee: So is this a new challenge faced by educators, to determine if papers were written by the students or by AI?

Yeah, you can usually tell, but you have to have a report from an AI-checker to back it up, and we are only supposed to be using on particular one.

But we have to spend a lot of time dealing with this now, unfortunately.
