    Attack on ICE Facility

I see that over the weekend a group of smartly dressed but tactically inept folks attempted a poorly executed ambush outside an ICE facility. Apparently body armor and Antifa chic wasn’t enough to put them over the top. Eleven arrests were made. It harkened me back to the old days when amateur Weather Underground bombmakers were blowing themselves up.

I wish the ICE people were smartly-dressed.

So many of the videos from the mainland I see of ICE raids show people in a hodgepodge of widely-mismatching bits of tactical clothing from Amazon/LA Police Gear, mismatched body armor, mismatching weapons and identifying patches, randomly placed kit on their cheesy tactical vest carriers, mismatched shoes, and clearly mismatched tactical training.

You'd think with their new budget they could at least hire Hugo Boss to design some nifty uniforms.

I think I may have mentioned here before that I regularly participate in the large-scale training exercises in crowd control the Washington State Patrol does(*). I'm generally one of the "mob", so they have people to practice on. I'll say that if you are referring to the video I just saw yesterday of some kerfluffle at the San Francisco ICE office that the officers looked almost completely untrained and inexperienced to my eye.

(*) Random tidbit, not entirely unconnected, in this state, the Washington State Patrol runs the state fire academy and sets most of requirements for firefighters in this state, so we like to help them out as best we can. You can imagine it's difficult for them to find a few hundred people who are willing to get tear gassed and shot with pepper balls and all that sort of thing, but firefighters seem not to mind much.

It was in Texas, which I believe to be less tolerant in general of kerfuffling than SF. But it wasn’t the LA or Portland sort of rock-throwing or fire-setting. It was people with guns shooting at people.

    Oh my!

The SF event from yesterday was just people yelling and waving/blocking with bicycles, and some protestor got run over by an ICE vehicle. (Assuming it was ICE - as I complain above they were so sloppy it could have been anybody.)

ICE was checking out the National Museum of Puerto Rican Art in Chicago in the last day or two. When asked, they said they were checking out the safety of exits and the like. Some big festival this weekend. The scum.

In Washington State, impersonating a public official is a class C felony. Building inspectors and Fire Marshals should have a word with the ICE impostors.

I was driving south on 101 Monday when a black SUV, heavily tinted, roared onto the highway at my right, swung around me and sped off. It did not have ANY license plates, front nor back. Not even a temporary. I thought about calling 911, but it was long gone. And I'd have had to fumble for my phone & pull over someplace. It really shook me. seeing that.
My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished two bags of M&Ms and a chocolate cake. I feel better already!
