    Twin Cities Delta airlines woes

Wow, Delta in the Twin Cities has had a bad run in the past 10 days.

    1. Hours ago, a Delta pilot was arrested when he landed the plane coming from Minneapolis in San Francisco. Reasons have not been given, but he was definitely arrested, So that is serious.

    2. In the Minneapolis airport about 10 days ago, a pilot was arrested before the plane even took off. This incident fascinated me because it shows how alert Homeland security was. Really remarkable!

The pilot was heading down a walkway to his plane when he ran into a random, unexpected security checkpoint for crews. He neatly and quietly pivoted, passing a nearby bathroom, and headed down escalators one level to a bathroom far away from the checkpoint.

This was viewed as suspicious behavior by Homeland Security and they called the cops and higher up officers. This is amazing to me that they didnt let this oddity slide. They are heroes!

Airport cameras followed this pilot into and out of the bathroom. Cops went into the bathroom and found a full, unopened bottle of rock gut Vodka in the trash.

They arrested him, and he confessed to putting it in the trash. Results of his blood test are pending.

Here a pilot gives his analysis of what took place.

okay----any time i think about flying, i remember the time that GermanWings co-pilot locked the other pilot out, and flew the airliner and 140-something screaming people into the side of a mountain. Or, about 30 years ago, when that Value Jet hit bedrock in a Florida swamp. Not me, no thanks. No place like home. Hope that helps you some.

I think I watched too many episodes of Airline Disasters on the Smithsonian channel during COVID because I no longer look forward to flying. I used to love it. But because I have over a million miles, now I figure the law of averages for the possibility of my own air disaster is rising. Now, IL is telling me that there are also drunken pilots like Denzel Washington to worry about. I have had two emergency landings and I don't want three to be the charm for a disaster-style emergency.

In my head, I know the chances of anything bad happening are minuscule, but there do seem to be more reports about airplane malfunctions, or understaffing of air traffic control, or near-misses and other things. So, I'll stay happily grounded.

I'm torn. There are so many places I still l want to go/see! Don't mind flying, but have more "crash" thoughts than I used to.

Same here. Decided to keep going. Life is for living … not fear of what may possibly happen.

We can all thank trump for all the air fiascos! Keep cutting essential employees… idiot. Just saw trump is now funneling monies from the decaying silos that hold our nuclear missles to update his gift plane that he plans to keep personally when out of office! He needs to be gone!

So once again all roads lead to Trump, from drunkard pilots in Minnesota to floods in Texas.

I suppose if people can be lead to believe that the cancellation of an unprofitable TV show is a fascist plot or a jeans ad delivers a coded Nazi eugenics message, then the normal limits to credulity no longer apply.

I see several news stories today claiming that hundreds of US Air Marshals have been redeployed to ICE deportation flights from their normal job of shepherding commercial flights.

You are right. trump said he would get rid of people who he considers disloyal to him. He also got rid of law enforcement in MANY areas. So yes, all roads, in these cases lead to trump!

    TDS?

    ETA… See #8!

Saturday protests will again be countywide to protest trump! Looking to be another large show of displeasure for the impending/current fascism.

What will happen with these poor souls around January 2029 when they’ve lost their self-licking ice cream cone? How will they be able to relate to the world around them without a Grand Unifying Trump Theory?
