When I shop at the supermarket once a week I focus on the loss leaders and stock up.
I have no intention of replacing my 2007 hybrid 50mph car, but maintain it well.
I regularly make soups using perishables.
I stick to classic clothes, buy quality from sites like ThredUp and don't fall prey to trends.
I do audits of my subscriptions and have cancelled several.

I'm just trying not to buy anything.
When I do have to buy something (example - meds for dog), I'm doing a bit more research for the best product/price than I used to. Also trying to remember to ask if any discounts apply to purchases - AARP, AAA, Senior, VA, etc.
Putting in a bit more effort to use food before it goes bad. (As I've said before - I HATE throwing out food!)

Inflation will have to get pretty bad for me to change any of my already frugal habits. I use a Tracfone, dry clothes on the line, weather permitting, don't eat chicken or beef and get some produce from the garden, rarely travel outside of the state, etc., and my retirement savings seem to be keeping up with inflation in a relative way. I'd like to replace my 12 year old Tacoma one of these days, but those things can last forever if needed.

I've noticed some nice homes in my middle class neighborhood that have been on the market for many weeks or a fcouple of months. Homes like that would have been snapped up in a few days not long ago. Local news is say owners are expecting to get 2022 selling prices and it's just not happening.

Noticing more things missing from shelves and more price increases. Starting to think of work-arounds for those products we use that we won't be able to afford soon. It's a wait-and-see game.

The Greek jam DH and I just found is now gone from where we'd bought it, so is all the Chivers (British) condiments. We like the orange marmalade, but this store almost always had Lemon Curd and Ginger Marmalade, those are all gone now too.

My only expensive food item is Republic of Tea Earl Greyer. Tasted so much better than anything else. I buy it by the bulk 250 tea bag packs. Now up to $58 on Amazon. A few dollars less on ROT website, but you have to pay for shipping. I just ordered another one to keep on hand. I’m part way through one, so this will be my second backup.

Ordered a 12 pack of the Chunky Healthy Choice chicken noodle soup I love. This is the cheapest way to get it.

For that particular shopping trip - coffees, teas and some baking needs seem to stick in my mind.

Oreo's used to be $4.79 for the "Family Size" package. Now they are $5.29. I've tried to give them up but for the past year or so I just cannot NOT have my customary three cookies (what constitutes their serving size) as we sit down to stream our shows in the evening. Then I eat them like a little kid where I screw off the top cookie part, eat that in two bites, then scrape the white frosting off with my teeth and then finally eat the bottom part of the cookie in two bites.

I would never do this in public though, lol!

Have you tried the generic Oreos? They taste the same to me.
