    Post Hello

Hello, My name isn't really important and I did read the etiquette so I will try to stay away from posting many personal details. But what I will say is I am 19 and living in Upstate NY, not saying specifcally where. I have a mental disability that effects my communication skills. I am working with a two programs to find work and a apartment to live in (the latter being the main reason I am on here to begin with).

I am currently still living with my mom and have many hobbies that I want to eventually explore more of on my own when I believe I have more freedom.
The program I am working on is still getting involved with working out a specific basic living apartment. I will need to learn to be more independent as time gets closer to the date that I hope to be in (Beginning of next year).

I have many other creative outlets that I would also like to do more freely.

I hope to find support and tips and help from this forum.

    -AA

Hello AA and welcome! It sounds like you are in a challenging but important phase in transitioning to adult life.

What kinds of advice or help are you hoping we can provide? Do you work with a coach of any kind?

Tell us about your creative outlets you mention.
My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished two bags of M&Ms and a chocolate cake. I feel better already!

Welcome, AA. I'm not sure about upstate NY, but I know that finding affordable housing is a challenge in much of the northeast. Good luck with your search!
