In my own county, which is the most progressive county in a progressive state, Trump got 22% of the vote in the 2024 elections. He got 23% here in 2020. 25% in 2016.
yes, it absolutely is nonsense. It’s stupid. I tire of it.

It’s been a long time since Philosophy 301. Would that be the logical fallacy of secundum quid or dicto simpliciter?

I have a love/hate relationship with AI, but this is an example of the former. It's so topical!

A latest event of amazement is Trump's law suit against the DOJ for a quarter of a billion for what I get as damages he claims to have incurred when the FBI searched Mraa Lago for the top secret documents he'd stored in his bathroom and other public places. Only Trump could pull off committing a crime and then getting paid millions for it. Since the DOJ is in his back pocket he might actually pull it off.

It is starting… The news here reported over 2,000 people voted the first day of early voting in my county. This morning the news reported 125 investigations into illegals voting here. My DH worked elections in the past and there are many checks in place and it is VERY unlikely this is happening. It is the start of election interference. trump needs to stay in office or face consequences for his felonies. His radical “updates” to the white house are also signs he is planning to be there for a while.

See the conman career of Dr. Ian Robert’s, illegal alien, registered to vote in Pennsylvania.

There are plenty of unqualified people registered to vote although I will not claim it is enough to influence national elections.

We had a statehouse election illegally determined by mail-in ballots in my district. A court ordered a do-over election when the shenanigans were revealed. Election fraud is real.

edited to add: DH is also an election official, having done that for decades. He dropped during COVID but started up again after we moved. I agree that there are many checks and balances in the voting system but nothing is perfect there is no system that can’t be thwarted.

Just to hedge your bets will you start going after Vance, Rubio and DeSantis before or after the midterms?

What do you mean by go after? Seems to me, they are all in trump’s pocket.

I was just thinking about how leading up to the Republican primary in the last Presidential election DeSantis was the most talked about and reviled Republican in our Public Policy forum, but then fell off the radar after failing to win the nomination.

If you really believe Trump will do something to extend his Presidency, just wondering if you'll bother focusing on logical front runners in a Primary or just assume it won't be necessary. I'm betting that they'll all become the next incarnation of Hitler in our discussions if anyone determines they're worthy of focusing on them at all.
