Dances with Wolves is one I forgot, although it's a little hard for a re-watch as Costner seems a little too odd these days.

I actually liked Tremors, but not a top favorite.

Minus a couple movies I took my boys to when they were little, it's been a long long time since I saw a movie.

Some of my favorites would be....

    Kramer vs Kramer
    Star Wars (the original)
    Terms of Endearment
    The Green Mile
    Forrest Gump
    When Harry Met Sally

It's hard to determine an actual "favorite". For me, any movie that I see on tv that makes me stop channel-surfing and watch, falls into the "favorites" category - or at least "likes a lot". LOL

I haven't given this deep thought, but off the top of my head:
    The old Universal horror films
    Casablanca
    Gone With the Wind
    My Fair Lady
    The Shining
    Badlands
    Silence of the Lambs

I have to watch Badlands; my sister in law sent me the music once.

You have eclectic taste, rosa! My Fair Lady and Silence of the Lambs on the same list!

I really did not like Silence of the Lambs--technically it was a great movie, and maybe great because of how it made me feel and not despite it. I saw it in the movie theatre with DH and I just hated how I felt afterwards. I can't even express it, really--maybe dirty? Enveloped in an evil haze?

I agree with happystuff, it's hard to name a few as
favorite" . Apparently most movies I've seen are completely forgettable, because I know I've seen a lot and can't think of many, lol.

If by favorite, we're talking about movies that I will happily watch over and over -
Anything by Jane Austin - whatever version.
The Hobbit (the Peter Jackson one)
The Lord of the Rings trilogy
Star Wars - the first three
Star Trek - any and all
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
    Elf
    North by Northwest
    Rear Window
The Hunt for Red October (how can you not love a Russian defector with a Scottish brogue?)
    The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

    Ok, that's way too many!

yeah, the evil haze, and then, Catherine, consider that the novel it all is based on had Hannibal Lecter at “city Hospital “in St. Louis, which is literally half a block down the street from my house in St. Louis.

if I was prone to get creeped out by that sort of thing, I think I would’ve been pretty creeped out.
