Went to see Song Sung Blue and really enjoyed it! DH said he really liked it too even though he is not a Neil Diamond fan. It is based on a true story.

Putting this here because we don't have a "What are you listening to" thread. I know we have some fans here of Robin Kimmerer. The Wild Ones recently hosted a Zoom presentation by Doug Tallamy that was excellent, so I signed up for their mailing list. There's a free Zoom webinar on 1/21/26 featuring Robin Kimmerer and Esther Bonney: https://wildones.org/conversation-wi...esther-bonney/
Just finished Pro Bono, a KDrama where a promising judge on the track to be the next Supreme Court Justice is caught in a scandal and resigns. He becomes the head of the pro bono department of the largest law firm in South Korea. The cases vary from property disputes to helping a refugee fight a powerful politician, he comes into conflict with the firm's partners while investigating the allegations against him. Exciting legal drama, we planned to only watch an episode a day, and ended up binging the last four episodes over the weekend.
I peruse the Golden Globe nominees and winners for films and television product.
I have seen none of this films. None. I have desire to see none of the films.
There are a couple of the TV dramas I’m interested in, but they’re not on any of the services I subscribe to. Apparently Netflix is no longer dominating these awards. There was one drama with Robin Wright that I thought might be OK, then I pulled it up and saw that I had already viewed it! It was completely forgettable and was rather stupid.
okay-----i been sitting here, re-watching news clips of fanaticrat white females scrimmaging with ICE agents in MPLS. So yeah---who needs futbol or ice hockey? Ha. Yup.
What am I watching? On TV? Nearly nothing. We haven't had it on in days. Since the last football game I imagine.
What I HAVE been watching is a woman's YouTube channel. She might be interesting to those of you who used to follow Rhonda Hetzel on Down-to-Earth. This woman's name is Marion and her two channels are Marion's World and Marion's Garden.
She lives in the far north of England. On MW she mostly focuses on her sewing, knitting and embroidery projects. She thrifts most all her materials or up cycles what she has. She made her own yardage from thrifted dresses and blouses and makes new garments. She embroiders and paints really well. Look also for her videos about her phenology wheel.
The things she does in her small garden are inspiring, partly because she accomplishes so much and she's about my age and out of shape too. She's very soft-spoken and has a wonderful, lovely accent. I just love when she says something is "bonnie!"
So, if you're tired of doomscrolling, visit Marion. You will feel happier.
My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished two bags of M&Ms and a chocolate cake. I feel better already!
