“Jacket-potatoes” is clear nomenclature that conveys what this is. We should adopt it.

WOW! Most Americans want to use their own names, rather than adopt ‘English’ English terms! Thanks, Iris lilies ,

Well literally, I don’t “bake “potatoes in a conventional oven. I do cook them in a microwave oven, but that’s not really baking, or is it?

I like many British terms and would be happy adopt them. I mean, that whole dustup with ya’ll was 250 years ago and we can now let go of our stubborn need to distance ourselves from Mother England’s culture.

I prefer casual dining, jacket potatoes seem so formal.

We had lunch today at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, thanks to a gift card from my son. So, we're not too hungry--liverwurst and onions on an Engish muffin

Last night was cheesy-chicken, with peas and baked sweet potatoes. Tonight is going to be fried rice.

Tonight we had bangers and mash with carrot and onion gravy. Just the thing on a cold wintry evening.

we don’t put any gravy on our bangers, but I like the idea of onion gravy. I’m not sure I’ve ever had it. I love onions very very much. and garlic. And leeks. anything in that genus.
