IL: I can't think of a band I would rather hang out with than the Rock Bottom Remainders. I can certainly think of bands I would rather listen to, but not hang out with!

Yep, it was a great day. Dave Barry still looks like he’s about 27 years old even though he’s nearly 80. He cracked jokes all the time and kept them all laughing.
I decided Scott Turow was so cute and nice, I wanted to marry him, but DH said nope.

edited to add: this is where I bought a book by Dave Barry, and he signed it “to my closest friend.” Haha ‘cause he doesn’t know me from Adam. He probably signed all of them that way that night.

okay---last week, i reviewed the videos of Chic, and their two disco-era classics from '79(1979). But yeah---"Good Times" and "Le Freak". At that point in time, i did NOT hear them at a disco. Nope. I heard them every morning on the radio, at 7 am., at work, during the dead of an IWAH winter. Back when they had REAL winters. Not these Al Gore winters. Yup. Edited to add: Several years before, there was "Lady Marmalade" by LaBelle. It has a brass bad, piano, electric pianp, and Hammond organ, in there, among other things. Also---after those, later in 79, there was Amii Stewart and a bunch of people involved in the production of: "Knock on Wood", which is best heard through HUGE speakers. Yup.

okay----another one to listen to is the Boney M rendition of "Sunny", from the disco days. Also, listen ta "Cruel Summer" by Bananarama. Apparently, the sound of a Marimba is a synth, in that one. Hope that helps you some.

okay----i was sitting in traffic---just sitting, waiting for everone to start moving, again, and i had my window down and heard a car radio playing a song i had heard before but could not identify. So yeah----this requirewd me to go online after i finally arrived home. I only had two clues: Andrea True Connection and K.C and the Sunshine Band. But yeah---guess what? the Ai on the puter figured it out for mee! What the song was/is is a one-hit wonder for a Canadian Band "Len" from waaaaay back in 1999(before you kids were born) called "Steal My Sunshine". See---it samples summa the sound from Andrea and KC, into a whole new tune. So, anyway----i recommend that you kids go online, and listen to 'er. Hope that helps you some.
