Thread: Anyone have any recommendations for a vacuum cleaner?

    Please keep the recommendations and testimonials coming. I am also in the market for a new vacuum, as I am just tired to death of the 18-year old heavy clunker of a Kirby. I want something more lightweight and I swear, I would clean upholstery and cobwebs more often if I had onboard attachments. New vacuum also must be able to suck the carpet right off the floor, as we have an adorable but seriously-shedding variety of "baby" in the house.

    Miele here, it's lasted about 15 years and no problems yet and we pick up a lot of dog hair with it. I am allergic to many things and this vacuum is good for that.

    Thank you Weston! Can't believe I forgot all about checking Consumer Reports. Will definitely head to the library next week to look at this issue of the magazine.
