Okay---number one, PLEASE don't tell Alan I've managed to slip by the security measures. Let him be; it's Sunday and he's probly doing yard work. Okay: Egg checking. I'm not a fan of eggs, hadn't bought any in years. I find that these people in the stores who rummage thru the egg cooler looking for a PERFECT set of 12Eggs@1.29 a dozen are guilty of unacceptable behavior. If one has a tiny crack in the shell, so what? To be continued........Thank mee.

okay---this is not about eggs. I'll get back to that, later on. For those of you who think Putin is a jerk, possibly so. But if youdo a littlebittybit of reading about the history of that part of the world(the past 1000+ years) you'll get a better understanding of it. They ought to place "Under New Ownership" signs at the borders, which change a time or two every century. Ukraine is NOT a small country, and it also has several neighbors who are not small, either. Like Turkey & Poland, etc. They can help, if needed. Ukraine is rich in mineral resources, has great farmland as well. But, it is considered a "developing" country by some, with a low standard of living for its citizens. Western countries are trying to get Ukraine into the fold, so it can be exploited, (and used strategically), and this concerns the Russians. See? Hope that helps you some. So, I don't support the neo-con Armchair Generals who are calling Biden a chicken because they imagine their idol Trump would send in 500,000 Marines and a swarm of B-52's, to show that The Good Guys always win. See? It's a problem, but not one that warrants U.S. military action. Now you know. Not going to argue with you.

Where are you finding eggs for $1.29 a dozen these days? They are more than double that where I am.I don't know. That's what they were, at some time or another. They are pretty cheap nutrition, though. Just don't even think about where they originate. Ha.
See--what happened---if you'll recall back 5-6 years ago, I was elucidating the case of Church Guy who mowed and mowed and mowed, it seemed like all day, every day. Well, what happened was, he was seriously hurt in a mowing accident, and was disabled for months. But, his yard didn't go unmowed. Heavan Forbid! Ha. What happened was, another neighbor who has become a mowing zealot, steppied in, and took over mowing while church Guy recovered. Then Church Lady got sick, and had some time in the care center. Anyway(to make a short story long), what happened was, Church Guy decided to move Back Home In Indiana. Yup. So, Church Guys Boy took over at the place, See? But, that turned out to be a good thing, and I'll tell you why. He has Huskees, and he has some chickens that are allowed out to roam and pick up yummy bugs to eat. They waddle over here, to search for bugs. I'm getting to the point, so be patient. They sell the eggs, and I buy some, on a regular basis. I reuse the same styrofoam carton, over and over. I don't need to grab the carton of eggs from church guys' boy, and open the carton and start scrutinizing them, either. Ha. They are always in good shape. How do you like that?

Apathetic, That's good you should ask, about eggs/Pizza. . Thank you for your inquiry. See--in 2015 on the huge bike ride, we rolled into Decorah, I-wah. Several of my ancestors lived there, a century ago. They were Norwegians, not Neanderthals, FYI. Same difference, though.
Ha. Anyway, I-wah is a very weird place. They had a Pizza Hut that was open way before noon, when I rolled in. It said "Breakfast Buffet $xxxx. " So, I said to myself "why not". Well, all of the Pizza on the buffet was piled HIGH with scrammmled egggs and very greasy sausage and ooey-gooey CHEESE. I am surpised they didn't have pickled herring topped pizza.
I hate to waste food, and it's too bad I didn't bring the huskees along, but I ate about 3/4 of a slice before my stomach started turning. They also have a I-wah chain called "Pizza Ranch", in every little burg, and their product is similarly bad & potentially lethal. See? Don't say I didn't warn you. If you go on that bike ride, don't go for the food! Bring your own.

I tried to get my coworker who has chickens to sell me some of his eggs but he recently got a big dog and the dog eats all the ones he and his wife don't use.Yah, initially that was my plan. But I was boiling some of them up, and tried it, and decided to use them, myself. Now, it's just a treat for them, not a staple. The cats don't care for eggs. I'm going to voluntarily increase what I pay for them "axx apples" again. I'll give them $6.00 for 18. that's still pretty reasonable, considering. Not THE cheapest; I figure I could drive to the next county, an buy them for less from someone I don't have as much confidence in. See?

True, Jeppy. They are defaming chickens, by calling Ol Joe a chicken. Chickens are cute little critters, and it pains me, seeing them severely exploited for meat. I never did like eggs, but it turns out they satisfy a craving if I have 3 hardboiled, topped with hot mustard, garlic salt, and black pepper, with a dill spear along with them, dripping with brine. Yup.

We've been buying organic eggs for $2.99 a dozen and it is money well spent. I eat most of my eggs hard boiled, and you can really tell the difference if it's a high quality egg. At that price, it works out to 25 cents for a nice bit of morning protein.

Do you check your eggs at the cooler, or do you wait until you are at the checkout counter, with 3 other people waiting somewhat patiently behind you? Because see--I've had an egg-checker find what they considered to be a faulty egg, and had to wait while the cashier summoned a boy to run back and get another carton of eggs. Oh, yeah. Sure have.

My eggs are all organic, free-range, cruelty-free, and cost $0.

(If you don't include the cost of the land, property taxes on the land, the cost of construction and maintenance of the coop and yard, the mink/otter/dog/hawk control efforts, the cost of ownership of the herding dog that keeps the flock safe, feed cost, and vet cost.)

We don't have chicken coops like bae, although we've considered it, but we do buy from from folks that do. Opening up the carton is like an Easter egg hunt with eggs of different hues and sizes. One of our "distributors" is a little more polished with actual labels with her farm's name on the cartons, but the other is just a lady with a bunch of chickens and a lot of eggs and reused cartons with the name crossed off and their farm name written above it with Sharpie marker. We know we pay more for locally-produced eggs, but not much more--$2.50/doz but it's money well-spent.

Okay--here's another Household Hint RE: Pets. I've been doing research and experimenting with using wood pellets for pellet stoves as cat litter, during the heating season. At first the test subjects(random cats) were skeptical & wary. But, they caught on. Wood Pellets and unscented cat litter are priced about the same--not quite the same, but close. What I do is dispose of the used pellets in the wood heating stove, droppings and all. Heating season is 5 months m/l, so this should result in a saving$. Plus, no need to dispose of used litter, other than dumping the ashes on the compost heap with leaves and stuff. Hope thatt helps you kids some. Thankk Mee.

4220 Tiny House in Anchorage, Ak. It is across the street from the apartment building I lived in. I have a photo of it, taken from my upstairs window with a Polaroid at about 1 A.M in the Summer of 1969, around here. That fence wasn't there, but it's much the same. I tried to find a zillow or Trulia listing, but none appeared. Just curious, because home prices are like a bad dream, there.

I think I know that area, it's out near the airport isn't it, maybe a little closer to Chilkoot Charlie's in Spenard?Yup. It's prolly midway between those locations, right next to what was formerly known as Minnesota avenue. Surprised that the house wasn't razed when they re-did Minnesota & renamed it after Walter Hickel. He was a developer who put in a lot of commercial buildings in the 50's, including the Safeway Store where I worked. It used a proprietary Safeway design--there's one like it a couple miles from me, and I saw one in a Michael Buble song video filmed in Canada. Even though Anchorage has greatly incresed in size, I've noticed--looking on google maps---that there are many, many seemingly insignificant older structures there that still remain in use. Around this part of the country, it's knock er down and start over.
Banks, Hamburger joints, and Gas stations are especially notorious for that. The old burger stand in Anchorage(The Bun) is long gone, but the place I banked looks the same, but the gas station has been remodeled. The old safeway has been turned into a gym, but Safeway bought out their local competitor & it looks the same as it did 50 years ago. Hope that helps you some.

Yah, that's what Koots is there for. they have live entertainment, imported from the lower 48. We were discussing how, just after the place opened, one of our classmates was murdered there, by a jilted boyfriend. I do not recollect even hearing about it. Also, a guy who grew up in a littlebitty I-wah town(Poky) in the middle o' nowhere, and opened a donut shop in Anchorage, was arrested for being a prolific serial killer. I read not one, but two books about the case. I did a little digging on the net, and his two ex-wives are still living; one in Ark, and the other waaay up in Minna-sooota. Also, I found a google maps photo of his former home in anchorage, which I'll post. But first--here's a google aerial of the spenard area of Anch. Koot's is located in the upper right; and the apartment plex & tiny house are to the left of the "Walter" in waler Hickel parkway. And, to the extreme lower left is Ted Stevens airport. In the fall of 1970, a military transport bound for 'nam crashed & burned out there, killing several dozen soldiers. They didn't even have a chance to fight the spread of godless commie-nizm! I recall seeing the wreckage still smoldering, when I made a trip out there to the post office sorting station.

Anymore, I just let it go, because that way I can monitor my cases for other interesting stuff. Such as, an aging Boomer attempting to recapture their youth for three long hours, sitting in an old hockey stadium listening to a geezer-billionaire raking in even more ill-gotten gains rehashing "meee-shelll, mah bell, som de monkee bonk tre bien insane" and other stuff. Well, you didn't say where you went shopping, so not sure why one should "thankk mee" for lack of information?
Late last year, I went to a neighbors garage sale and bought one of two of their lateral file cabinets from their closed business. I need it for work stuff that needs to be backed up in paper form, as well as electronically. Part of me wishes I had the garage space for the other, as I have seen people use them for larger power tool storage.
What part of Iowa? Anywhere close to Waverly? Roy's still a thing (where the Hooters founders as well as some others, got their basic idea)?
What happened to the Packard?

What happened to the Packard?Yup, I've heard o' Waverly. I may have been through there, at one time, though I can't recollect it. One of my cousins graduated from the college o' higher indoctrination, there. So did the guy I bought my 66 Chevelle, from. The school is named Wartburg College. Ha. To paraphrase the Smuckers ad: "With a name like Wartburg, you know it's got to be good". Some I-wah Logic for you. It's close to home, and you can be a "big fish...", but the tuition is not cheap. Ha. But, I lived---not really--I existed---in I-wah for many, many years. Too many. And I have lived in, and stayed overnight in, many more I-wah -burgs, -Groves, -tons, -Centers, -ville(s), -Rapids, -Lakes -City(s) -Falls, etc., etc. But, on a regular basis, I will hear o' some place name in I-wah, that I am not at all familiar with, and so I have to look it up! But yeah---Waverly is about 100 miles from the littlebitty town waaaay up in the middle o' nowhere, that I "lived". I follow the news at the old home City, and it's like reading MAD magazine. The place continues to perplex and entertain me with the level of-------oh, "if I can't say something nice, I won't say anything at all". I was on the receiving end of that homily, on account of my littlebittyopinion of their community moooo-vee theater rescue project. Longtime residents(norwegians) use corny sayings to make rhetorical statements about everything. Ha. To be continued.....

Okay----I'll tell you what else I do with them file cabinets. I order up a set of four steel casters off EBay for $26, and put 'em on the bottom. That way, the repurposed cabinet can be moved around more readily. Retards corrosion, too.. Sometimes, I cut a piece of plywood to enclose the bottom of the cabinet. This keeps stuff, including mice, ants, and other critters, from getting in. This upgrading costs more than the cabinet, usually. But, it's worth it. Yup. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee. Oh, yeah(where was I?) I bid on more file cabinets, but another bidder just HAD to have them, money no object. So, I just let it go. Anyway, as others here and there on this board have said--it's good for keeping your tools and stuff organized and up out-of-the-way, so you can readily locate them, when you need them. Another benefit of course is that if you should suddenly pass, your "Soul Mate" and "Very Best friend" that you were "blissfully married to for over 40 years" can just call the junk removal service, and have the cabinets and contents carted off for disposal, no muss, no fuss, no bother. That way they can finally neaten things up around the place. Ha. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Okay--We'll talk about that guy who is the Famous Scientist--more famous than Famous Dave, later on. But first, I wanted to talk about Mooo-Veees. Seee--I used to sit-n-watch Mooo-veees, just like some people. But, I pretty much quit. The only mooo-veee I will even consider watching is one about a stigmatized property. See? Okay---here's two photos. One is from a famous moo-vee, the other is an actual stigmatized property. Guess which is which. Ha. I know what you kids are thinking: What's your point, Packy or whoever you are? Well, since you asked, the point is that one reason I quit watching mooo-veees is that I noticed that too many people get their wires crossed from it. Ha. There's other reasons, too. But, anyway---none of that keeps me from studying the subject of stigmatized properties, or a lot of other stuff. I just don't source my "information" about anything from Mooo-veees, any more. . See? Okay---here's the two photos. Hope that helps you some. Thank mee.4227422742284228

Okay--one of You Kids inquired about my old Packkard. Actually, I have two Old Packkards. Well, they are fine. Last fall, a seller on F-book out in N.C. had a '58 Packard Air Filter housing for sale. Well, I already HAVE 2 housings, but one is in rough shape, due to rust. So, guess what? I made the seller an offer, and acquired their filter housing from them. What a find! The last one I bought, I got from a F-book friend, who was not yet a F-book friend. See? So, yeah---F-book can be a resource for '58 Packard parts, which BTW are VERY rare. Only about 1700 cars were made with that housing. Yup. But, here's the deal: The air filter itself is no longer made. Hasn't been for a while. So, you've got to be a "MacGuyver", which is a pop culture term meaning essentially to improvise. There is help, and I learned this solution online. What you do, is go online, and purchase a filter for a mid-sixties Rammmler v8. You might get some spares. There's some ebay sellers asking $20 or more, but I found a company who sells overstock, and they had them for $6 plus shipping. So, $10 each. So, I got several. Where do I store them? One of my file cabinets, of course! Ha. Anyway, there is a catch, though. Though the Rammler-specific filter fits & has the unique flange at the top that the lid rests on, it is about 1/4 too short. So, what you do, is buy a piece of 1/4" polycarbonate plastic the right size, and make a spacer that fits in the bottom of the housing. See? The housing I purchased also has the s-shaped carburetor stud, so that was a plus. I need it for a pattern. Hope that helps you some. But, I seriously doubt it will. Ha. Thankk Mee.

Okay--this update. I purchased a pre-sewn front seat cover & upholstery retaining clips & pliers and seat back bumpers, for my 66 Chevy. They have already arrived. It was $300 and change, including shipping. Then, from the same vendor, the rear seat cover($200), but apparently it was not in stock, and will be drop-shipped from the production facility in rural Kentucky. But, that's kinda okay. The shipping is a bit high from that vendor, so for the front seat foam bolster($245), I went with a vendor in Ohiowadaho, which is just across the state line from the sme manufacturer. It's supposed to arrive next week. That's fine, all that matters is the it does arrive. Unlike the Axles for the same car, which Fedex lost in shipment. But, that vendor sent me another set. So, I'm fine. I know you kids are sitting there thinking: littlebittybobby, why are you wasting that kind of money on a dinosaur gas-guzzling clunker that you rarely drive? Sounds like a money pit indicative of obsessive-compulsive behavior, to us. Do get some help. Yes, during brief interludes when I'm "normal", I realize that I could've used the credit on my cards for worthwhile purchases, such as a billionaire Paul McCartnnneey(1/4th of the mop-topped foursome) still-alive-and-in person front-row seat Ticket, OR on a nice cruise on a Carnival Ship OR season tickets to sit-n-watch I-wah play Iwah state and other Big Ten Confernce(conference) ball teams. The "Big Ten" actually has I believe 14 teams, now! Ha. I coulda done one a those worthwhile things, instead of refurbishing my old Chevy seats! Ha. More on this subject, later. Okay--I figured out a way to reconfigure the wooden wardrobes I bought from the REAL money pit--the local state U, here. They are heavy--they look like oak, but really are oak-plastic veneer pressed board and oak-veneer plywood. They were functional, but had some cosmetic wear-and-tear. Future Office People(students) are fussy about home furnishing, ya know. After several years, they still have a dorm-y smell. Anyway, they are taking up room in my storage, and I had sold some of them, but have several left. Selling them was a hassle; I was considering cutting them up and burning them, out back. But, after lying awake at night, I finally arrived at a solution. So, I'm modifying a couple of them today, as storage shelves that will hold plastic tubs of my car parts, with room to spare. They have two nice drawers, down below the closet space. See? So,yeah--they will be useful. I think I paid around $5 each for them, but moving them was a chore, and storing them ate up my profit on the ones I sold. To be continued.....

Okay--I use an electric chain saw as a carpentry tool--one of them, anyhow.. Ha. Also---here's my philosophy--"Using nice, new, hand-picked lumber from the big box, any weekend warrior can be a carpenter. But it takes a REAL craftsman to use culled lumber that's been stored outside under a tarp in the backyard for YEARS, to build something useful." Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Seriously, I think that is very cool that you were able to do something with reclaimed lumber. I have carpentry aspirations myself, but still very much in the beginner's stage, so I'm lucky if I can do something decent with the lumber from the big box stores (although the quality of that product is not always so great either).

:laff: Joe Bonamassa Tickicks. He's been here at least twice, and filled the largest arena in town with what I affectionately call "Boneheads", who clamor for the noise he makes. Also, the elderly Texoids who call themselves "ZZ Top" They show up almost every year, here. In addition to the tickkick expense, you've got to figure on having a nice, neew Tattoo(aka "Body Art) to show off at the concert. It's got to be the largest conglomeration of sleaze in the community. Ha. A couple other groups the aging teeny-boppers worship in this area are REO, Styx(my term: Stinks), and of course Steve Perry and Journey. Don't get me wrong--I do not hate them. Not at all. I just dislike their music INTENSELY. See? Thankks For raising that subject, RR. Hope my responses helped you some. To be continued.....ETA: Close to 15 years ago, The Company where I was employed had one of the people who thought they were in charge decide that they didn't need an old crate(or maybe it was several) made for storing and shipping stuff for a display used at trade shows. So, I was assigned to dismantle it and dumpster it. It was made of large pieces of 3/4 plywood, and stapled together. But instead of dumpstering it, I loaded it all in my pickup, and hauled it home to store it, until recently. See--an accesory building I have here that houses a workshop--or did, until it sustained weather damage, needed substantial repairs, anf guess what? That salvaged plywood has been VERY(xxxx4) useful in repairing my litttlebitty shop. Seems like plywood like that is at LEAST $50 a sheet these days! I've got a cache' of secondary-grade lumber, that I've kept tarped up for this and other projects. PLUS an old 55 passenger school bus that's got quite a bit in it, too. Saved it for the day when lumber prices have gone wild! Also, I have at least 25 old fluorescent "troffers" that I picked up dirt cheap $5 or even free; Well, they used to use T-12 bulbs, but what I did was make a indoor winter project of refurbishing them with solid-state ballasts for T-8's. See? If you buy the ballasts by the CASE and the bulbs by the CASE, they are very economical. But if you go to the Big Box and just want one ballast and a set of bulbs, thats not ver cheap. Nope. Hope that helps you some. Anyway, I've got the refurbed lights in storage for this and another project. (To be continued)

Okay--TYVM for the assistance. The Tech Support here is very, very adequate. Can everybody see the subject of my avatar? It's of a classic '67 Ollsmobill, that went off a bridge, not too far from Bah-stun. Yup. An enterprising body shop prolly got it for a very cheap price as a rebuilder, since cars that have been "upside down & under water"(the present state-of-the-union) usually don't bring much as salvage. But, if he got the engine dried out & running, he'd be okay. Then, it's a matter of taking care of cleaning the interior thoroughly & then straightening the exterior panels, replacing the windshield, & refinishing it. BOTOH, it might've been more valuable as-is, in a tourist museum alongside The Bonnie & Clyde Car, the Jayne Mansfield 66 Buick(it wasn't hers, she was a passenger), Bill Blythe's '42 Buick, Mrs Biden #1 71 Chevy station Wagon, Ted Bundy's VW, and of course, Jack Kevorkians' Microbus, Sam Kinisons' Trans-Am, James Deans' Porsche Spyder, the Paul Walker Porsche, the Ryan Dunn Porsche, and maybe X-100, the 61 Linkin' stretch Limo that drove through Dealy on that dreadful day in downtown Dallas, Nov 22, 1963. What a tourist attraction that would be! Yup. Anyway, that's my avatar photo for the time being. I'll prolly change it, to something more upbeat, pretty soon. P.S. Okay---For the sake of brevity, I'm going to enumerate some of the very important stuff I've done, lately. 1) I have a 3-pack of wireless switches from HF. The switches plug into a receptacle, and have a receptacle on them. Then you can control whatever you want from the remote that comes with the kit. Only the remote has batteries, but you must keep in mind that the receptacle must be powered up to work. I've used this to switch up table lamps and a reading lamp and so on. But, the latest thing was to go up in the attic--right inside the access, and splice one of these receptacles into the circuit that controls the much of the overhead lighting in my hillbilly shack. These are the lights I tend to leave on after dozing off, and even if I awaken, (especially in the winter when I'm under my sleeping bag & covered up with several cats), I'm not inclined to get up and go turn everything off. See? But, this setup allows me to reach for my remote, and switch those lights off! There are still some lights that are not governed by this. That's fine, for safety reasons, and it also happens those are not as likely to be left on all night. See? So, that's a plus. Thing is, I've got to use the remote to switch them "On" in the A.M., or the lights won't work from the wall switches. A minor issue, though. This setup isn't um "hard wired" into the house wiring; it uses a box, and an extension cord that has been cut & spliced into the house wiring that then connects to the remote receptacle. It is safe and legal. That way, if the remote receptacle or the remote conks out(they are HF, remember), I can go upstairs, pull the remote, plug the ends of the spliced cord together, and have functioning lights again. The sum total amp draw of those lights is waaaay under the capacity of a 16 ga. cord. I checked, with an amp meter. 2) While I was up in the attic storage area, I found the damaged display model light fixture from the nearby big-box that I told you kids about, many years ago. They had it priced at $20, but the glass cover on the bottom was broken, so I got it for even less. It's a 3-bulb fixture, has cooling vents, looks nice, and hugs the ceiling. That is essential because my hillbilly shack only has 7 1/2' ceilings. That's something that takes getting used to, but once you do, you'll never look back. Who needs all that wasted airspace, overhead? You just have to heat it! I just am astounded over the phony-baloney architecture of these modern McMansions, with their atriums and vaulted ceilings! Ha. Okay---the old fixture, that I bought 20 years ago, was a good fixture, but only had two bulbs and no venting; so going up in wattage was risky. At the very least, it shortened the bulb life. What I did to refurbish the damaged-salvage display fixture was order up a piece of 3/16" white translucent sign-grade polycarbonate plastic from an EBay seller in Zurra. This cost more than what I paid for the fixture, but who cares! Ha. Money's no object, when I do something! Ha. Anyway, I bought a nice saber saw blade for plastic to use in my 50-year-old Sears Craftman saber saw, used the old broken piece from the light as a guide, and cut the plastic down to size. Then, used a sander to smooth up the cut edges. Yes, I placed the corded tools back in their spot in the repurposed file cabinet. Yup. Anyway, that light works awesome and amay-zeen. Years ago, I put that light on a two-way switch setup, because it only had one switch. Same with the kitchen light. This place was built on a very tight budget, back in '55. It had a 60-amp entrace box with cartrige & plug fuses, and was frequently blowing them, so in the 90's, I replaced the box with a 100-amp switchable breaker box, bought on-sale at the long-defunct Payless Cashways store, here. One of their former stores is now the Main Lirrrrarary, here! Ha. But, that's another story, for another time. Anyway, the new breakers solved the prollem. Yup. Okay--3). This weekend, I went out to a residential area by the park to where one of the residents in particular would be "lowering property values" and "creating a nuisance" , according to certain peoples opinion, but not to mine. Nope. What they do, for extra income, is offer a valuable community service. They have surplus plastic pallets for sale, and plastic barrels and sometimes plastic crates. These are all VERY useful items to have.! Anyway, I purchased some of their pallets, and would've gotten more crates(which fit perfect in my re-configured wardrobes), but they were out of stock. Maybe next time. On the way home, I saw that one of the deluxe new homes(actually 20 y.o.) was having shingles and guttering replaced, and the "old" guttering was lying next to a roll-off dumpster. I stopped, to try and negotiate with the owners(a couple in their late-70's)for the guttering, but I could not locate them. They prolly took the graaaaandkids out to eat, at some noisy, overpriced restaurant. That's the kinda stuff grandkid-grandiose old folks do, for something to "do" on Sundy. Yup. Maybe they even got out and DROVE the 50 miles to Branson, to feed their faces. I don't know. To be continued.....Hope that scenario helped you some. Later. Thankk Mee.

Okay----While I was up in the attic, I measured the depth of the insulation, and also--saw to a place in the ceiling drywall that had gotten wet & damaged, due to a leak that would only become apparent during VERY hard rain storms. The leak has since been fixed, but the bad area in the ceiling remained. Well, I removed the insulation around the spot, cut out the drywall, placed a piece of (scrap) plywood over it, used l-braces to secure it to the ceiling joists, then cut a piece of(scrap) drywall to serve as patch, and anchored it to the plywood. I caulked around the perimeter of the patch, and have waited for the latex caulk to thoroughly dry out. Then, I'll finish it with fiberglass tape and drywall compound. Then---use a stippling brush to touch up the ceiling, and repaint the whole room. When I get time. Ha. Soon enough for littlebittyme. Hope that helps you some. Oh--I just found out something. You kids know that I don't worship Rock Idols, Politicians and other celebrities. BUT: I had long known that The Crickets last performance was at the Surf Ballroom in Clear lake, I-wah, immediately before the crash that killed Buddy Holley, etal. I've visited Clear Lake/The Surf on that HUUUGE(bigger than it should be)bike ride in 2017. But, guess what? I just now only learned that the band appeared in Fort Dodge,I-wah at the Laramar Ballroom! A place that is still extant! I have never been in there, even though I've spent plenty of time in the area. Anyway, that's it. No, wait---I purchased another dozen bags of insulation to spread around, up there. They are up there, but not yet spread around. Nooo, I won't use a blower. Yup. Thank Mee.

How many cats do you have?Yes, that is low. But, if a person isn't over 6' tall, it should not be a problem. Just don't install a low-hanging ceiling fan, it may pose a hazard. But, yeah--cats. There's an old saying---"you can't have TOO many cats". Have you heard it? Neither have I. Anyway, I know that for me, it would probably be oh--twelve cats. But, I haven't taken a census, lately. I had just a tiny handful o' cats; (some were very old), but then in 2019, a very young boy cat came to my attention when the tenants were evicted from a duplex, and the boy was abandoned. It is his nature to be VERY assertive, and that essentially saved him. His situation was dire; it was winter; he was probly oh-5-6 months old. So, yeah--I rehomed him here. He's one o' them all dark grey cats with very velvety fur. I call 'im fuzzy. He is an indoor-outdoor cat. Then, just two weeks later, a young girl who worked at a restaurant, found a teeny-tiny gray tabby in the parking lot. Now, that's according to her. Anyway, she couldn't keep the baby--and so I took it, along with stuff the girl had purchased for her. This kitten was really teeny weeny itsy-bitsy; the vet estimated 5 weeks! Yup. This kitten took to my old cats like a duck to water and tried nursing every one of them. So, I was feeding that VERY little girl canned science diet all the time and also hill's kitten food to build her up. Well, we were just fine, everybody was getting along until the next few months---time flies, okay? None of them were howling and yowling. I made an appointment to get Fuzzy neutered, as he was that age, by then. The vets here apparently have gotten yuppie-itis, and it's gotten difficult to find one that charges a reasonable price and the one's that DO are backed up for several weeks or months! Didn't used to be that way! $30-50 and a weeks notice would get you in, in time. But, no more. Short story long, I got the boy fixed, and scheduled the teeny-tiny kitten(who had grown a bit, but not much), but by the time I got her in, SHE was expecting! She has been totally house-bound, since I had her. The vet had to look in her files at the time frame for when we neutered Fuzzy, and sure enough--he was canny enough to avail himself of that window of oppotunity. Ha. I started calling my littlebittykitten "Teen Mom". Anyway, she popped just 3 kittens. Two cream tabby males--one marble, one tiger-striped, and the runt is a female most blue w/cream
The boys---especially one of them--are fairly large cats! Larger than the parents--especially Teen Mom. Anyway---she didn't wean them for long past 8 weeks; she nursed them for probably 3 !/2 months. Of course I started them on solid food in a month, but they really liked their mommy cat. I took the mommy and her daughter in and had them spayed, together. Now, it's the brother boys' turn. I let them grow out a bit, and compared to the other cats, they are HEAVY. One is named Monster, and the other is Scratchy. But, they are good boys---approximately 99% of the time. Ha. But, yeah--one of my next projects is a secure fenced cat yard. Though I do let the old, old cats out (& cat daddy) I'm not letting the young ones out in the hood. That would constitute a nuisance, and lower property values to zip. Well, wouldn't it? Ha. As it is, the old ones go across the street and sit on the neigbors' car, and we don't need to be doing that. Ha. So, that's a project on my list. Hope that helps you some.

Here's something else: So far, that pellet fuel is working out great, as kitty litter. Plus, you can burn it, IF you don't let it get soaked. What I use is a plastic concrete-mixing pan. It has higher sides, for litter kickers. Plus, it holds more. The used litter that you don't burn can be composted, where clay litter is harder to dispose of. Pellets seem to absorb the scents, better, too. So far, so good. Hope that helps you some.

Okay---here's something else you kids might find beneficial. You know those surplus file cabinets I told you about? Well, your Ammo cans fit right in them! Not that I recommend keeping full cans of ammo in them--that might be a tad too heavy for a file. Though, I spose you would be okay with one partially-full can of ammo in a file drawer. But, what I mean is ammo cans containing other valuables, that weigh less than ammo. Because--I keep my supplements in an ammo can or two, I keep my accessories for various electronic gadgets in ammo cans, and so on. They are sealed up, away from this zurra humidity and bugs. Throwing a few gel paks in an ammo can is not a bad idea. Where to buy ammo cans? Well, used ones pop up here and there, and while they usually are cheaper, you can buy them new at BareWallsMart, as I call the retail giant that ate the country. Now, you can only expect to checkoff a % of the "stuff" you intended to buy at BarewallsMart, because much stuff is out-of-stock, at any given time. Ya, those Walton heirs are neo-socialists, and of course you feel like you're at home in Moscow now, with bare shelves and long lines and surveillance cams and security checks everywhere. See? Anyway, the ammo cans USED to be $10 there, but not any more. Try HF, when they have them on sale. Anyway, you can label them, and file them. Hope that helps you some. Thankk mee. Later.

Are you saying I might be lowering property values, in my 'hood? Ha. Just kidding. Which reminds me of a true story. Well, it was in the local paper about 25 years ago. So, who knows if it's true. Anyway, there was a funeral home located next to residences. The business had been built on the site of two homes that were razed to do so. Anyway, at some point the funeral home added a crematorium to their "body shop" facility, and then this resulted in a lawsuit by several neighbors who claimed they could smell dead bodies burning at the facility. Well, their complaints triggered an investigation by the city or county, and other experts were called in by the defense lawyers representing the home, to present evidence. Well, the judge found for the defense(funeral home), because the investigators found that the plaintiffs were opposed to cremation on religois grounds; and that the odor was emanating from the Burger King located further away, and not the stack at the funeral home. What was my point? Ummmmmm. To address your quession more directly, no, not really. It seems to decrease the odor, all-in-all. If the pellets have turned to sawdust, I don't burn them, they go on the compost. But, I scoop the pn, and dump used pellets in the heat stove, and I don't detect much odor. That said, if you have a wood stove that is smoldering(not fully combusting), it will emit smoke, no matter what you burn. But, in my case, as long as I have a hot fire, I can add used litter, waste and all, as long as it isn't soaked and the pellets crumbled into sawdust. Going back to my anecdotes, a lot of it depends on your neighbors perceptions, right or wrong, and lots of people burn yard waste and occasionally, some trash, out here. So, all little smoke won't cause a panic. But, if you make sure, like I said, the pellets havent gotten soggy, It'll burn well.

Interesting, and that is hilarious about the Burger King. I wasn't even thinking about your neighbors; I was thinking about within your home."Thank You, thank you Very Much"---Elvis Presley quote.. Here's some wisdom from littlebittymee--I've realized something about individuals who make a project of Cusstomizzing old classic cars and old classic houses. They usually have the intention of making it "Look Cool". But, what usually happens is---they screw it up, making their money pit project LESS practical and functional, than before! Plus it's UGLY, too. Okay--go ahead and show mee examples, if you want, but then I COULD show you at least TEN examples of what I meaan by "screwed up". But see--I won't. Don't have time. Here's the memorable moment I went to an old car meet 20 or 30 years ago, that coveys my point. . A dealer had a well-preserved 57 Chevy 2-door for sale. He said he'd gotten it on trade from a young guy who decided it wasn';t really what he wanted, so traded it to this wheeler-dealer for a used Corvette. at least the kid didn't spend a ton of money re-engineering and restyling the ol' 57, just to look cool--but ruined. . Ha. Good Boy! Shows some common sense. See---architects and engineers---designing stuff for large-scale production---do so by committee, and are working for companies that have the resources to design stuff that is practical, functional and has a measure of CYA liability protection built-in. With the talent and resources at their disposal, it is hard to radically improve. Sure--you can upgrade, in a good many ways and have something better. But, The Factory Plan is hard to beat. You have these clowns who take a 1950's american car, pay some shop to strip all the chrome off, fill the holes, chop it, drop it and kussstomize it to death. And yeah---it's "something different" or even: "an expression of my individuality" and they've spent a lotta dough on it, but it's screwed up! Hey---the allure of 1950's American cars was All that glittering chrome on an enormous, boxy-looking car! See? Good Job, idiot! Lots of enthusiasts believe what I do, but they're consistently shouted down by what I call: "Auto Libbers". My car, my body, my choice. They immediately go for the ad hominem attacks, the name-calling, complaining to those in charge. Etc.. Every time I see a Model A Ford coupe that is an older restoration come up for sale on the net, I cringe. Some person with too much money might acquire it, and turn 'er into a project that will ruin the car, to their liking, of course. Same with houses, too. Yup. But, OTOH, there's a home down the street that was built in 1952. It belonged to a couple who lived there a long, long time. They were finally carried out. It's a 1950's Zurra-style ranch, with asbestos siding, and a carthage-stone front, on a large lot. It even has a basement! Well, a neigbor, who was a pro with a LOT of experience, bought it, took care of any deferred maintenance, cleaned up the yard, put in new carpet, bath, kitchen, using standard-issue big box stuff, painted it inside and out, power-washed the carthage stone & painted the siding a nice pale yellow. It was move-in ready. This took them about a year, and they hired various people they knew to do some of the work. They sold it for $188,000, which was prolly over twice what they paid, without redesigning the whole place and going over-the-top with additions and stuff. Looks great. Yup. A young couple with kids moved in. It's a happy ending for everyone, there. So, the takeawy is--shop till you find what suits your requirements, and can be made perfect with a judicious amout of TLC, and buy that. See? Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee. I'm rounding up a photo of a remodel "fail" of another house down the street. To be continued.......Okay---built 1900. Y'know, it DID have lots of potential. It is the second-oldest house in the 'hood. But, they tried to give it some kind of contemporary McMansion look, and it's a total fail, looks-wise. It's livable though, and that's what matters. People need to consult littlebittymee, before they screw things up, though. They need my approval, to proceed on their project.

Here's something else---until today, I did not know what a "salad spinner" was. Only that it was a contentious subject, on this forum, and something you didn't want to talk about, for fear of the thread escalating into aa flame-fest, I guess. Okay--a salad spinner seems like a useful tool, for a restaurant. Not really for home use. I worked at Wendy's as a maintence boy, years ago. In the very back, they have what they call a Culinary sink. I gathered that it was one of those things in particular the the Health Dept inspectors would check, when they came around. To my knowledge, the store did not utilize a salad Spinner. They prepped the lettuce in the culinary sink. They washed pots and pans in the culinary sink. Maybe the even spit their tobaccy in the culinary sink. I don't know. But, I figure now that they shoulda had one of those electric-powered salad spinners, to rinse and dry the lettuce and other stuff. It would've been a time-saver and kept things more sanitary.
Yup.

Thank You, Thank You Very Much for the photo of the Amish guy, utilizing a modern convenience to worsh his buggy! S.E. I-Wah, down around Bloomfield, has an enclave of Amish. One day I was coming up that way from Zurrah, and they were out in force on the highway, evidently coming home from a Sundy Meetin'. They were Pushin' Horsy pretty hard, too. If I were a religionist, I guess I'd be a member of my very own self-styled Anabaptist splinter group. Like mormons, we would abstain from strong drink(most of the time). Also, we'd ride bicycles, like missionaries. Ha. Also, like adventists, we would not eat chicken or pork, etc. I-wah, as tidy and scrubby dutch as it is, is factory-farm hell. I was astonished to read that hogs in "confinement" (a euphemism for hog hell) outnumber people in I-wah by 10 to one! At least the cattle in this part of Zurrah can roam around in a natural environment, outdoors in spacious pastures. In I-wah, cattle are crammed in 1-acre feedlots, in filth up to their knees. Yup. Amay-zeen. Then, they have egg- confinement facilities and turkey confinement, too. So, noooo---don't need none o' that Pizza Ranch chickin'. Thanks. Hope that helps you some.

Little cute white dogs are so easy to find good homes for. So many singles looking for a small apartment dog right now in INdy. The rescues are mostly full of pit bull and large dogs.Yup. That is true. When I was a worker at the Shelter(Death Camp), the file of request card file was filled with requests for house doggs. But, the X-breed big dogs, not so much. I did take home a chi-wow-wow-MinPin X who had been brought back by a couple who initially were thrilled with it, until it exhibited aggression toward their Graaaaandkid. They'd sent a card to the shelter saying the dog was a gift from God, before the "attack". So, I brought him home to live with my pack o' huskeees. Threw him to the wolves. Ha. I had that Chi-wow-wow Pin for 13 years. He wuz badazz. Nother time I was working out there on a Sundy, when the "shelter" was closed. There was a young pure German Shepard up for adoption, very friendly, too. Well, he climbed out of his pen, and was wanderin around, keeping me company. The shelter supervisor came by to lock up, before I left. I thought he was going to lock the Shepard up in his pen, but no--he put it down. Yup. If I'd known that, I'da spoken for the dog. But, the super prolly was unhappy about having to come in and lock up.....there's more to that story.

Okay---They've had several discussions here, on the subject of what kind of music they like. I've spent a long time formulating an answer to that one. Here are some of my conclusions. But first, an anecdote. I used to live in a college town up in the middle o' nowhere, where pigs outnumber people ten-to-one. Okay--there are two college towns that are major F-ball schools, but one had significantly more hippies, the other one had more rednecks. Where I lived, had the rednecks. One day I was driving around and for some reason stopped into this boutique that sold records and stuff for hippies. They weren't doing much business. The clerk must've been transferred from the main store at that other college town, because he was an I-wah-style hippie. Yup. Anyway, in my quest for music, I asked him to direct me to the 45 rpm records he had for sale. He said in his best I-wah snooty hippie tone: I ONLY sell albums. Then he suggested I try Target or Musicland, at the mall. Since I didn't need a water pipe or papers or beads, I left. Thing is, I did(and still do)have some of those albums-for-hippies. But, no more than a dozen. The bulk of my collection of records are 7", 45 rpm records! Okay--conventional wisdom says that REAL audiophiles and sophisticates with refined taste are like that store clerk from I-wah city---they ONLY buy albums. That way, they can display them on a shelf, in full view. People will then know they are discerning and have taste, right? Ha. Okay--I do have several old CDs of particularly good records from the 90's. I heard one of the songs on the radio, yesterday. But, they are outliers. To sum up, I ONLY like 45's. Since they don't make many of them any more, I search Youtube for videos of contemporary music. A month ago at Grocery Barn, I heard a song on the PA system I recognized--sung by someone I did not. It was an old song from the 50's, and later covered by the Beach Boys! But, I had to look up on the net, to find out who sung the Grocery store Version. Well, it turned out to be by an artist that I normally don't like, doing the singing, with an artist I have several 45 rpm records of, playing piano. Ha. Guess who? It's not necessarily the genre that I'm stuck on, no, not at all.Soo, I bought a used 45 copy of it on EBay. The common denominator of all my records(almost all), is they are studio recordings suited for broadcast, and sold a lot of 45's, at the time. That's it. Many of them were by so-called "one-hit-wonders" who in fact went on to spend the rest of their working career in music, without a big-selling 45 rpm record or it's equivalent. See? A genre in particular that I generally do NOT like is what they call: Americana. I won't get started on that, other than to say I can't stand so-called bluegrass, or music by Kenny Rogers or Lyle Lovett or Kris Kristofferson--even though ironically, he co-wrote my all-time favorite record by Alan Jackson, called "Little Bitty", for example. Also, one of my hobbies is hunting for great cover renditions of more recent popular songs I like, where 45's were not available. See?. There are some really good cover & tribute bands, too, out there on YouTube. Yup. Also, to define my taste(or lack, thereof)in music--let me put it this way--I tend to like the music your band teacher likes, but not your Social Studies or English Comp teacher. Or my earth science teacher---he idolized Frank Zappa. Probably Jerry Garcia, too. They were musical frauds. Anyway, the reason I make this comparison is that I ONLY care about the MUSIC; the SOUND, and not Lyrics! See? In 2013, I was riding bikes through a town called "Pleasant Hill" You know it wasn't very pleasant, because it was I-wah. Ha. But, by the side of the road, there was a high school stage band, and they had been instructed to play a song by The Romantics called: "What I Like" See? That song was from before they were born, but I've got it on a 45. See? Also, I know--sappy, sentimental lyrical content is contained in a lotta good music. But, I ignore lyrical content, for the most part. Only like the sound of it. If I want WORDS, I'll read a book. Except of course, the song "Little Bitty". Yup. Any quessions? Nooo, I don't like "Amay-zeeen Grace", no matter who sings it. Too sappy.ETA: I don't like that "Meat Loaf" character, either. Try not to be upset with me.

Okay--Don't follow me for awhile. I'll tell you zackly why--I'm going to be critiquing some music, for awhile. So, if you're thin-skinned, stay-TF-away. Thank You. Okay--never did follow the late, great MJ, though I do have one of his CD's around here. I've listened to it quite a bit, after i picked it up, used. But, i can't say it has stuck with me, in an way. Same thing with Lady Gaga, and some others. But, they are a temporary thing, with me. But, I still like the music one(or two or three) hit wonders like Scarlet and Black, Tears-For-Fears, and Savage Garden. They were were studio musicians who were assembled by a record producer to make eclectic music that would sound good on the radio. And they did. Let me throw in Billy Idol, as a David Bowie imitation. both are 2 or 3 hit wonders. About 15 years ago, I was telling someone that I went into a store, and one place was playing "Year of the Cat" on the P.A. Then, I went into another store just after, and they were playing: "Time Passages". The patient Listener(like you kids)axed me: so, what was the next store playing on the P.A., and I says: "Song On The Radio". Anyway, I have all three of those on 45 rpm records. Al Stewart was a 3-hit wonder; but prolly that's the way it should be, in a just world. Ha. Hope that helps you some. Don't go away---there's more.

I found "Little Bitty" on YouTube and it wasn't bad. It had a little more of a country flavor than is my preference, but I liked it well enough. I do like Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead which you apparently do not, but to each his own.
I often enjoy the lyrics to a song, but other times not so much, and of course I cannot always make them out. I imagine that is sometimes for the best.

Then, set my clock ahead an hour, so I'd be able to get to the vet clinic before 8:30 AM, CDT. See? Well, two things--could not sleep and decided it was imprudent to even try. Don't wanna be late, as I am on probation with the clinic, like I am with everyone else in this entire world! Ha. I guess Me & Poo-Tin have a baaaaad reputation for aggression! Yup. Anyway, I got my $20 pawn shop catt carrier that has had a temporary repair with extra-sticky duct tape(more about that, later), and rounded up my two kitty-boys. They are over a year & a Half, and of course there's no way I can rehome them---they would be heartbroken over my rejecting them! Plus, they would suffer severe separation anxiety! It was amay-zeen and ahhh-summm how, at nearly 70 y.o. ,I had the dexterity and agility and quick reflexes that enabled me to stuff two grown tomcats in a cat carrier! Ha. Those catts were going to the clinic located almost 30 miles from me. They have never been away from home and their mommy & daddy & little sister in their Lives! They were quiet in the car, but when we arrived at the entrance to the clinic, they did a cat duet of disstress yowls. Anyway, I dropped them off; there was no confrontation-in-the-clinic, like there usually is. I did warn the staff that the boys have managed to unlatch the top lid on the carrier, but that they haven't fully mastered the trick, yet. So, I have to call ahead, and get the okay to pick them up before closing time, this afternoon. Hopefully, the clinic hasn't upped their prices, to cope with inflation. Wish me luck.

That’s funny Bobby. It’s so hard to get cats in a carrier.

Good luck! We have to take our older boy for a checkup Thurs. I'll get the carrier out tomorrow; that usually helps to desensitize him to the carrier by the time we need to use it.

Let me guess, you put the carrier, door side up, and the extra sticky duct tape, pulled off some cat hair when you dropped them in?

I have two cat carriers. One came from my mom and the other was part of my bosses estate, with his cat I moved in with.
When she passed, I didn't think I would get any more, but a friend had to take possession of his siblings cats and kid. He had them locked in the basement, due to his whole family being allergic, and needed rehome them when the septic backed up. My late coworker, that died the week before Christmas, made me adopt them.
At her celebration of life, her niece asked to see pictures of them. She freaked, as one looks a lot like Mattie (my late cat) and the other is a clone of her aunts late cat, JJ. If she didn't die the week I adopted them, she would have had a blast and demanded visitation.

I've always heard cats don't like to be rehomed, but in my little experience, if they receive love, they get over it and say spoil us, real quick.

TMS, it goes without saying you did a good thing. People who're a Cat Oasis don't get the recognition they deserve, such as an award and their photo on the front page. But, other people would just give 'em more cats,if they did. Yup. There's a burg up in flyover country, out in the middle o' nowhere. The founder was from Noo Yawk, and he bought some land, thinking he'd start a utopia. Well, after 30 years, he excused himself, said he needed to move to a drier climate, on account of his wifes' health. She died, several years later, but the guy stayed in Ca. for the rest of his life--20 years or so. Guess he was tired of the utopia he founded. Ha. What's this got to do with Cats? Well--this "utopia" has a 3-cat per-household limit! They even hired a guy, who worked on commission, to round up unwanted & stray cats, and take them to another county,50-60 miles away! Yup. But yeah--my cat carrier is the deluxe model. They cost $50 new,and I picked it up at a pawn shop for $20. But, that was years ago. It has served me well. But, this winter,I took it out back to rinse it out on a nice day,and overnight, it snowed. So, when I went out to get the carrier,it was frozen to the ground. I needed it, and carelessly cracked it, getting it free of the ice. My bad. It may be made of ABS, but that is yet to be determined. If so, I can fix it with solvent glue. Meanwhile ,it's got extra-sticky duct tape on the crack. Plus, the latches on the top gate need to be tightened up. Those Egyptians were right though---Catts are sacred. Yup.

TMS: That is great that you adopted those cats!

I have a friend who lives in Louisiana and at this point has about 50 cats that she feeds. She is not a crazy animal hoarder; her home is a nice environment, although cat hair is a definite factor. She does not go looking for cats; they come to her. Some of the cats are indoor and some are outdoor. People frequently drop cats off on her porch, so Bobby, you are right about that!

See, being Typy is important,more or less to a degree, depending on where you are. But,yeah--typy-ness is important. Yup. Thing is, don't want some of you kids critiquing my theory,like you did waaay back a few years ago, thinking you outsmarted me and invalidated my theory by finding fault with my punctuation, sentence structure,paragraph breaks and all that rubbish. Put what you were going to say in the dumpster. Ha. Okay---there are marked distinctions between Normies and Cool People. But, there is some overlap. One of the common features is consumerism--they value consumption, and it gives them prestige. See?; More on this later. I must give the Huskees a wellness check. Hope that helps you some. Later.;

You have to be prepared for surprises and be willing to share the results with the world, whether you want to or not.
Not for me, there is a lot more I don't want to know, then do. I already know my family wouldn't exist due to a rape, if there had been a safe/legal abortion method back then (rather then the two failed attempts, before medical caught up). Also--I'm goona repaint my hillbilly shack. The color scheme has already been decided--a drab, two-tone brown. Yup. End of story, except I've got lots of scraping to do. Plus, enclose the front stoop, and also repair the wooden garage door I installed 34 years ago. Also, I'm putting up a totally refurbished portable car port. Plus, I'm thinking about putting some awnings on it. These are the kind with aluminum frames, and plastic tinted shades. Yup. Just hope they are wind-resistant. Not getting bids for any of this stuff. In preparation for this I bought a damaged-salvage 16-foot Aluminum stepladder from a guy on craigslist from whom have purchased other very useful items, before. Isn't that an amazing coincidence? Anyway, the ladder was damaged and twisted, but the seller said "you can fix that", and by gum, he was right! He was asking $80, firm. So, yeah--I spent a week fixing it. But, I also improved it with material I picked up from the curb of a nearby home. It is a stigmatized property, by the way. The house & vacant lot next to him is also stigmatized! The vacant lot across from those two places is also stigmatized! What do you think of THAT? Should I discuss it here, sometime? Or does it creep you out?

Thankk Mee.

I have been using wood pellets for bedding in my horse stalls for over 20 years. When I was at my highest horse population. I was going through a pallet (one ton) about 1 and 1/2 months. Now I am down to three horses and only two of them are home now. I have a manure spreader that does not require a PTO. I just load it all up and spread it on my back field with my ATV pulling it.

littlebittybobby
3-17-22, 12:14pm
That's a whole lot of pellets, Boss! But, yeah--they do absorb the pee & keep odor down, and last longer than clay litter for catts. Plus the used litter can be composted or burned in a heat stove, if its dry. So, that's good. I would have to DRIVE aways to find them in stock, year around. So, I'm stocking up while the supply at the nearby big-box lasts. I have plastic food storage barrels, to keep the pellet fuel in, and dry. Yup.

Maybe, I could get one o' those surplus short buses from the school district on the auction site, repaint it with spooky graphics, and set up a tour of places around here that are stigmatized. There are plenty of them. Like--the India Gas Station up on the corner. There have been two murders in the parking lot, in the last 18 months. So, it's stigmatized. Right now, I've got to tidy up around here, even though I'm not Dutch. Ha. But, it is close to Spring. Yup. But, here's a preview o' one o' the stigmatized properties. Okay--here is a couple things, all in one. One, is a project I started Xmas Eve, 2011. It didn't get to the state you see it in the photo until 2021. See---it was a used frame I bought on EBAY. No one else bid on it, so I got it for the reserve of $99,plus $25 shipping. A bare used. 20+ year old bike frame--no wheels, no seat, no handlebars, no pedals, no "sprockets"no chain, no nothing. For $124. Ha. I know you kids are sitting there, thinking: "ONLY somebody like Packy/littlebittybobby would do something THAT dumb!; Yup. I know you're also thinking: lbb, why didn't you just look in a dumpster at an apartment house, near the college campus, and find a bike? ; There's LOTS of old bikes, for way less, at yard sales, ya know. Right? ; Anyway, I figure I got a good deal on this frame, and I initually put it together with stuff I rounded up, plus a set of wheels---with no tires---that I also bought from a guy who took them off his brand-new Cervelo, and put them on EBay. $140 was the price, but since he was local(20 miles away) I met him at a gas station to take delivery & save shipping. Aren't I smart?; He drove up in a brand-new Subbaroo, that was bigger than a 70's Caddallac!; I think he works in the lucrative health care industry, so he obviously can afford it, plus a new Cervelo AND to upgrade his weelz, asap. Ha. Anyway, them weelz were just the ticket, for my project. That bike is a test bed, for trying out stuff. See?; Anyway--as you see it, it is a 2 x 11 speed.; At one point, I told the guy at the bike shop I was making my 1988 bike into an 11-speed, and he expressed doubt. It did take some trial and error. I had spent several hundred $$(which is really not much for bikers in health care, but is a LOT for littlebittymee)and it sat up for over a year, until late one night in the laboratory, I was web surfing, and found a company that makes oddball, aftermarket parts, that has the solution. It was an ingenious little gizmo that cost under $50! So, I put that thing on, and my 11-speed conversion works! But, I wasn't done. See, years before, I had put a used road-bike crank on it, with 52-39 t chainrings. Well, with my 11-speed rear, it sorta worked, but had a bad habit of dropping the chain, when you least expected it. Not a good thing. After much analysis and trial and error, I bought a 49t- new old stock chainring for $40 or so, and guess what? It works fine. See, what you have here is rolling terrain, especially the back roads. It's not like climbing mountain passes in Co.(where the cool people allegedly live), it's these short, sharp 6% grades, one after another, sometimes. Then, level stretches. But, they tend to break your momentum. I see some people out riding up these rollers, young, supposedly-fit people, and they stand up to pedal up these little grades at a slow pace. And here's the deal---I am an old,fat,out-of-shape rider, but this setup lets me go up and down rollers, no problem. Why? Well, and 11-speed rear had a wide range of gear teeth(ratios), but with a closer range, between gears. Plus, using an integrated brake/shift lever, allows for very fast gear changes. This way, you don't break your momentum, going up and down hills. Best way I can explain it. Plus, having an 11-49 top ration gives you a decent gear for level terrain. Okay: I know a lot of crowd-followers have those dorky bikes with fat tires and loud graphics, so they can be faux "mountain bikers", and ride local public bike trails that offer no challlenge, whatever. Ha. Forget following the crowd. To be continued.....

As you can see, this bike has a VERY compfterble seat. See, one of the bike shops that sells consumer bikes that are better than department store bikes, but are affordable, has a line of bikes called "Liv" which are really Giant-brand, marketed toward wimmin. See? Well, some of these wimmin buy a new Giant "LIV", but immediately want an even MORE compfterble seat(based upon their perceptions & preferences) and so the bike shop obliges them and sells them a really compfterble seat for $100, and because the customer doesn't want an old(but still new)seat cluttering up their place, the bike shop throws the take-off nearly-new seat in a cardboard box off to the side, so that I can go in and rummage around and get an almost NEW take-off seat for $15. Ha. Pretty good deal. I've got one of this same model on several of my bikes, and I take a marking pen and ink out the "LIV" logo. They are VERY compfterble seats! The guy at the bike shop told me that Giant stopped using that model of seat, so I've picked up some spares. Yup. Here's another classic bike from the lbb collection. It started out as a 1986 Schwinn Passage, that I purchased new. But a lot of the original components fell by the wayside(figuratively),such as the weelz, the front fork, the handlebars & stem; the seat, the rear derailleur, the crankset, pedals, and I believe the front derailleur. Yup It does have the original rear rack, cantilever brakes. Unrestored 1986 Passages show up on EBay and Craigslist for ree-diculous prices, for some reason. Anyway, it's my Packard Bike. Schwinn DID in fact market a Packard-branded bike, back in the late 30's, early 40's, and I acquired an old headbadge off of one from an EBay seller, and put it on. Ha. Also, this Passage has mostly new old stock Sakae components--handlebars and stem(used), derailleurs(new).and bar end levers. Yup. But, it has a early Trek front fork, a Trek Shimano crankset, Shimano pedals, and of course--one o' them VERY comfterble dealer take-off LIV seats from the bike shop. Plus, other stuff, including a home-built 12 volt front/rear lighting system that uses a rechargeable milwaukee drill battery. Too Cool for the Cool People. Last summer, I showed up at the Annual Pancake ride--which features Poky I-wahs' Chris Cakes---for a 50-miler out and around in the hills. I had the ONLY tricked-out Schwinn at the ride; AND the only bike with fenders; the other 125 people had nice new Modern bikes, fresh from the bike shop. They can afford it--they are in health care! See? But, it all went well. Okay--I forgot to tell you about the weelz. I picked up a pair of old, but never used, wheel rims, off EBay. These are Titan Tour 2 by Trek. Ha. No spokes, no hubs. So, I bought new shimano hubs, new spokes, and put them together. Had to take the weelz in a couple times to re-true them, until they finally took a set. I used them on another bike, for 1000's of miles. But, I decided they'd be perfect for the Packard bike, which originally used 27" weelz. See---these are 700c size, but are wider than your usual700c. So, they matched up to the Schwinns brakesand also I was able to used a bargain-priced pair of 700-32 Continental tires that I purchased from someone because they won't fit a lot of your newer frames. See? This bike is a little heavy(ha), but it rides like a dream. Sure does. Hope that helps you some. Thank Mee.

If that is the one I think it is, it has its place (foldable, portable bike for inner city uses, also looks like one Daewoo used to give if you didn't choose the spare tire option).

About 10 years back, a friend found some old cruiser bikes (either beach cruisers or old post war single speed bicycles), and put those import little motors on them to make them something like a Whizzer.
Unfortunately, that took off around here and those old frames skyrocketed.

I love the idea, and think it would be fun to ride, while giving extended range and speed. I want to make it look like an early motorcycle.

Ha.....You kids are very amusing. I unintentionally omitted the fact that the ww1-era stone mansion is associated with a prominent citizen of the area, during the first half of the 20th century. The smaller home, with the rock front, is notorious as the scene of a crime. Look up: The unsolved case of the three missing women. The prominent Citizen bought a large tract of land on what was then the edge of the city, donated some of it to what is now the state U money pit, and named the street in front of the mansion, which is now a major business thoroughfare. The mansion backs up to a 'hood that is old-but-fashionable. Lots of Libs, live around there, in what they call: "Craftsman Bungalows". But, there is a big old 3-story house that is stigmatized, between the state U money pit, and the houses I just showed you. Yup. Anyway, He(the guy with the rock mansion) co-founded Route 66, too. But, guess what? He only lived in that mansion a coupla years, then sold it. Prolly was too creepy, living there. Isn't that interesting?

Yup. Apparently, the voices in his head told him to. As far as I know, his case is still in limbo. ETA: Astonishingly, after 5 years, they busted the assailant down to a charge of murder 2, but he hasn't stood trial. Un-be-lievable. The U likes to minimize the coverage of these incidents. Okay---I just was notified about an upcoming concert. It will be held at an old(100 years) theater that took all of 25 years plus several million $$ to finally re-open as a venue for stuff. At least they didn't knock 'er down, and build yet another "convenience store" by those companies from I-wah. Ha. Anywaay, the show that will take place is an appearance by the Pop Grunge music group Daughtry. I may make an exception to my no-concert policy, and get a ticket(s). I can handle their music, because it is very musical, not just a bunch of noise. See? Now, the band is all-male, but what that means is that probably, a sizable % of the audience will be wimmin. I will see if Kraft Lady wants to go along. If not--I'll go myself. Yup. BTW, There's also another venue here, in a big old building called the Shrine Mosque, which is indestructible. That's why it is a popular venue for he-man ho-boy macho metal music, like 5 finger death punch and also Slipknot, Papa Roach, and all the other stuff like that. That way, the he-man ho-boy metal heads who HATE music that is pretty, can go in, stomp their feet, get in fights, bleed & puke all over, without doing any real damage. They also used to have those "Tough Man" contests there, until a contestant died, so they couldn't get insurance. Anyway, if the tickicks are priced decently, I may go and see Daughtry at the old restored Gillioz Theater. Wish mee luck.

Those two structures are located in the S.E.-Central part of the city, about 10 miles from mee.. Yup. The mansion is presently a law office. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Thankk Youu, this was an interesting read. It's so hard to believe that three woman vanished without a trace to this day.

You sure he means Missery women, with as much as he talks about I wuha?

Unfortunately, it is easy to make someone disappear, it is harder to keep the secret. The one that I used to play around, drained the bodies over the tub and put them out for the trash, displaying the skulls of his victims (and I believe their pocket knives, which is what brought me to his booth), at his booth at a local antique store.
You have another clown, who buried the bodies in their house (his mom worked with my late bosses mom).
Another "alleged" one, was never tried as his only escapee, said he tossed the bodies in the Missouri river. When he got out from bad check charges, that escapee disappeared and was never seen again. (and he was arrested again and died in prison from bad check charges)
I could go on about a few more I am too close to.

Okay---for clarification---the cases of the stigmatized properties are in Zurra, the We Mow State. Which reminds me--I gotta get out there today and test-run the mowers, chainsaws, weed-wackers, etc. in preparation for my never-ending war against encroaching vegetation. Winter is just a cease-fire in the hostilities. See? Okay---my references to I-wah are because I enjoy keeping track of the dumb stuff they do waaay up there. It is like an anthill, full of provincials of Dutch and Scandanavian ancestry. They keep everything tidy; it is their duty. Plus, say Ahhh-summ,A-may-zeen and Yup, all the time. Plus, drive-n-eat, as a form of recreation. Yup.

Two points: A year after this video, Jeremy(in the vid) died tragically in a AG-related accident. He suffocated cleaning out the tank in a pig manure spreader. Yup. Very unfortunate. Also, note the name on the Bus/the club name. Western I-wans have very earthy senses' of humor. Nothing they like better than a scat joke or blue double-entendre. Yup.

Okay---too bad they didn't have an episode of "60 Minutes of Causing Panic", dealing with how, several years ago, there was a local "investor"here who got shot in a domestic incident, and then ended up in bankruptcy court on account of the money he owed to something like a dozen lenders(Banks, S &L's) for upwards of 500 older homes he collected & neglected as rental properties! Ha. Many of them were so shabby, they were no longer producing income, and he owed the city a heap o' money, for going in and mowing, yard cleanup, etc.,on the vacant houses. So yeah--he was in on the house-buying mania, and way over his head. Idiot. So, what I'm gonna do is, go around to all these banks, etc., establish a line o' credit, and then buy up all the stigmatized properties, around town. See? Then, just milk them, make the loan payments, do no maintenance, and wait until my house o' cards collapses. Sounds like a plan. Yup.

3-22-22, 3:15pm
Okay--here's something else you kids should know. I'm not going to write a big, long essay about it; just enough to convey a couple VERY innersting(interesting) facts. Okay--I know how some of you ALWAYS watch that Tee-Vee show called; "60 Minutes of Causing Panic". That way, you'll be Tee-Vee Educated. Well, see--up in that littlebitty city out in the middle o' nowhere, another habit them norwegians have is issuing cautionary tales, coupled with an old homily. See? What's that got to do with that show I mentioned? Welll, one of the founders and longtime reporters' on that show lived there in his childhood; his parents were school teachers, and after a long career of reporting stuff, he is interred there! He fell down a flight of stairs, fatally injuring himself at his home in Connecticut. That's where Newtown is, where little Adam shot all those innocent little kids at the grade school! Bruce Jenner went to High School there! Soo, a takeaway is---don't ever move to Conn., even if you can get a bargain on a stigmatized fixer-upper! No matter how cheap it is! Anyway, here's photo of the old Reasoner place, in I-wah. It's about 100 years old, by now. But, VERY well-maintained. No doubt excessively so. They're all Quasi--Dutch Norwegians, y'know. Gotta keep everything tidy. Get out the scoop shovel and bundle up, when the first flake falls. Ha. Yup. But, AFAIK, it's not stigmatized, unless you count that it's the former home of a notable person.

You need someone like a Del Dunmire (if I remember his name correctly). He bought up all of Bobby's stuff, and had it destroyed so people like you wouldn't either stigmatize, or make it a shrine.

However not everything can be bought up. Rivers, landfills, and places connected with former mob connected presidents, tend to be hard to.

Okay---a couple more. But, I'm gonna move on from this subject & discuss other Very Important Subjects. The reason I've dealt with this topic lately is not to scare or disturb anyone. My whole point is---be sure that any property that you have high hopes of buying isn't stigmatized, so you don't find out AFTER the fact. See? AFTER you've spent a large sum of money remodeling and renovating and redocarating thhe place to suit your tastes, and then one of the neighbor kids tells your kid what happened to the people who used to live there---right in the house! Then, you'll be sleeping restlessly with the lights on and the radio turned up and a Bible in one hand and a pistol in the other. See? That happened to a woman who had bought a cute little home in the Wichita area, and she was chatting with a neighbor who disclosed that the home had been the scene of one of the BTK home-invasion slayings. Very shocking, I'm sure. Hope that helps you some. I'll just post the next two pictures in a minute. Got to check on the catts.

littlebittybobby
3-24-22, 11:25am
Okay---Graphic Details were never my littlebitty intention; no point in it, anyway. Just so you kids'll know. But yeah--the tiny house is located on the west-central part of the city, and the incident was very(xxx4) pathetic. Better believe it. It involved a low-income PG mommy, and her 3 kids(all victims), and her meth-head would-be "BF" from Joplin and his actual GF, who was dying of AIDS, and a meth-head male accomplice(the perps). Anyway, would you wanna live there? The luxury "upscale" home was the home of a Filipino-American MD, and his Caucasian wife and their children. It was a murder-suicide, but the kids were unharmed. Physically, anyway. The local paper did mention a motive, but you still have to wonder why? Anyway, life goes on, and new residents make their home in those houses. No sense in tearing them down. But still....... Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

3-24-22, 11:52am
Okay---maybe you're not curious as to the circumstance that caused these two to be stigmatized. But, maybe you are, so I have to make the Disclosure. It's only common courtesy. Ha. But yeah---the fifties sprawling brick ranch was listed as a "fixer upper" that needed some "TLC" to make 'er a dream home. Ha--bad dreams. Anyway, a married man who had been ill awhile ended his misery with a S&W problem-solver; several months later, his spouse died unexpectedly in her sleep. The family chose to inter them in separate cemeteries. Yup. And then---the contemporary home on the south-side was the scene of a murder of a nurse & her two children. The Husband/Dad was 100 miles from home, at the time, but the cops scraped together just enough circumstantial evidence to try and "frame" him(as they used to say on Tee-vee), but the jury acquitted him. No one else has ever been arrested. It was very bizarre. The Dad later bought a home less than a mile from the cemetery where his wife and kids lie. It's prolly 12-15 miles from their former home on the South side. Hope that helps you some.4300 4301

Okay---I told you kids about my likes/dislikes in music, and how Iliked the stuff your music teacher liked, but not your Algebra teacher, for instance. i just don't care for stuff by old geezers with raspy voices mumbling mawkish lyrics while randomly strumming an acoustic guitar. Nope. It's GOT to sound musical, with rhythm, rhyme, and harmony. The singer(or singers) must be able to hold a note, and the recording should have a wall of highly-produced sound. Yup. l told you I like nothing better than a cover of popular songs, that equal or better the original. It can be a note-for-note or a stylized version. But,it's gotta sound perfessional. See? Last night, i was looking around on youtube for Tunes that I hadn't heard before, to use in my psychedelic room that I'm building, so i can get a better nights rest. It's got to be relaxing, yet stimulating. Trippy, see? After listening to some of those old late-60's hippie records, without success, I happened upon the unlikely works of a Childrens' Choir. Yup, it's all mostly kids, singing. The Capital Childrens Choir, recording at Abbey Road Studios in London. Okay---I been spying on you kids, over on that other thread. Stalking you all, to see what your musical preferences are. Well, now I have a need to bully & abuse you, because I've developed a stereotype of what the typical SL-er here likes. They tend to like: A)music they first heard when they were between 15-23 years old, and: B) Music which falls under the broad genre: Americana. Or, C): A & B combined. When I was a young boy, I watched American Bandstand. It was pretty good. But, at that time, there was a show broadcast from this very city called "Ozark Jubilee", that even at that age, I could not stand. Y'see: I detest hillbilly music or bluegrass and its derivatives like a sickness! Yup. See? That does not mean, however, that ANY and every record that contains a Banjo or steel guitar or mandolin or cowboy hats & from Nashville is automatically hated by littlebittymee. Not hardly. They CAN sound good, under certain circumstances. I guess it also goes along with my policy of not liking spoken-word records, too. How 'bout some Red Sovine, folks! Ha. No thanks. Now you know. Say--did you kids listen to the Capital Childrens Choir on youtube? Give several of them a try--especially the older ones 2011-2013. The kids in them would prolly be adults w/kids,by now. But, their covers of certain contemporary music from England is very(xxxx4)good. I may be biased, because Jolly England (and NYC) are the center of my music universe. Sorry--no banjos accompanying the kids. Ha. But, they've got the harmony. You bet. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

LOL, I think I have four or five copies of that concert.

I had a dvd copy, then found a bluray copy for $5, and my late boss, loved the concert. It was his most watched and he had me buy multiple copies (kept one with every dvd player), because he used to also give them away. (used to buy seven at a time)

One of the last things, he was wanting a projector, to watch it in the back yard, and I was wanting a projector, for a computer project (Shootoff). We were going to split the cost and he let me pick the projector.
Angie bought the screen, because she wanted to watch Liveaid, with it, in the back yard. Steve wanted me to bring over my laptop, and play the full, uncut, all song version, I found on Youtube, from a camera left on during filming.

I have one littlebitty 45 rpm record of the Staples Singers called: "I'll take You There". I believe it was recorded at the Muscle Shoals sound studio. Yup. The bass wreaked havoc with the speaker on the AM radio in my 61 Chevy. But, that record DOES definitely have melody, rhythm, rhyme, and harmony. Yup. Now, there IS but one or maybe two spoken-word records--"Wear Sunscreen", which was produced--not performed--by Baz Luhrmann. and then--"West End Girls"by Pet Shop Boys is kinda spoken word and I have those, too. Yup. Also, Lexington Lab Band on Youtube has many note-for-note covers from the 70's that are nonetheless more polished than the originals, including Skynyrds' "That Smell". Yup. Okay--one unofficial genre I like is what I call "Brill Building Music". Doesn't mean I like EVERY song that ever came out of the Brill Building, and have recordings of them all. It's just that I like a considerable number of those songs, recorded by popular artists. See? A whole lot of it was country-pop-rock-music, that was released on 45 rpm records. See? Then, there's a certain Lady in Ca. who is not a performer, but has composed a LOT of country-pop-rock songs, and made a fortune, doing it. The lyrical themes of most of the songs are romance, okay? But, the composer says she's never been "in love"(like you kids) and certainly has never married. So, she's a spinster, who says she refuses to rearrange her office, on account of a superstitious belief that it will affect her music. See? Anyway, the last concert I attended, oh at least 15 years ago, was at an outdoor arena in Ks. Well, the secondary, opening act was better than the headliner, in mylittlebitty estimation, and as you've realized, I'm usually correct. You had Ms Leeann Rimes singing: "How do I live?", written by the great (spinster songwriter) Diane Warren. See? One time, I was hospitalized, and only one radio station was available,so I got to hear Sara Evans' sing "I could not ask for more", many times over. There's another version by Edwin McCain, too. Written by Diane Warren. I'd have those, and more on 45 rpm singles, but they stopped making them, by then. This does not mean that I am a certified member of the Diane Warren Cult & Fan Club, and have numerous albums and CDs of her music, and travel LONG distances to week-long Diane Warren Music Festivals, if there were such a thing. I'm not a member of some sub-culture that calls themselves "Dianeites" or something. No, not at all. But, I do appreciate a lot of her clever songs written and recorded by various artists. See? Hope that helps you kids some. Now, try listening to youtube videos of The Park View Mennonite Church. They have a pretty good choir. In my old age, it seems I'm developing an appreciation of good choir music. Not ALL choir music; just what I consider good. That's what I call Progress. See? Hope that helps you some. Thank kMee.

Okay---I ain't watched tEE-vEE or mOO-vEEs in a long time. I outgrew it. Plus, it has been subjected to "Progress". I have my own reality, to entertain myself, anyway. There's still books, good books, IF you have the time and literacy. My preferred media is You-tube;mainly for music and tech tutorials and interviews with experts and prominent people. For me(and others) it has superceeded(and surpassed)tEE-vEE and mOO-vEEs, leaving the core audience of those particular media behind. I'd make some of you kids mad if I stereotyped the consumers of those media, so I won't, except to say that: 1)in its day, Radio was king. Now it's not. 2) Do you wonder why so many "Stars" today are members of that horribly oppressed my-nority group? Because that's also the core audience of tEE-vEE and mOO-v-EEs! Yup. Even the Anglo Texas polio victim I was reading about the other day, who has spent over 60 years in an Iron Lung, says he hasn't got time or the desire to watch tEE-vEE; He has attained a Law Degree and written numerous books and much correspondence, instead. Isn't that ahhh-summm and a-may-zeeen? Ha. Yup. Funny thing is, IIRC, there were hardly ANY questions on the exam about The Basics: Corn, Hogs, Soybeans, Hogs, Cattle, Hogs, Layer Hens, Hogs, Land Prices, Bacon, Girls Basketball, Big Ten Football(w/14 teams), Hogs, Monster Pickups and Crossover SUVs, and last but not least: Hogs. Yup. Those are THE things that matter to I-wah People! You bet. See? So, why wouldn't a student with a good working knowledge of those subjects and thus, a high ACT score, predict success? Makes me wonder. Ha. Gotcha. Yup.

Okay---Some misc. observations about mixed subjects. Anyway---any further discussion of the oscar-awards-event the other night is a waste, but I'll sum it all upby saying---consider the source of the controversy AND that it's likely it was "staged" by the two involved, even if it wasn't scripted. Yup. Would not surprise me. Look at the attention it is getting. But, let it go & be a lesson to you that Tee-vee and mooo-veees by hollyweird are waaay past their golden age, and that they appeal to people mainly to the left of the Bell Curve, if you get my drift. See? Okay--I did listen to you tube vids of live performances of The Grateful Dead, which gave me a better perspective. See---they make psychedelic music! Duh. . It is mood music, and not heavy on melody. Just riffs. What little of their music that got Radio Broadcast airplay contained vocals, a catchy melody, and wasn't a representation of their style. That's why, though the band is highly successful, it isn't because of broadcast media. Recordings--long play albums for discerning hippies-- and concerts are their forte. Okay---Don't put two and two together, and come up with the sum of 22. Not on your ACT exam, or anything else. See? But, what I did was note that one of the soloists on the Capital Childrens' Choir was of high school age, at the time of the recording at Abbey Road, and they gave her due credit for her solo. She does not look English; I guessed Spanish, Portuguese, maybe??? Well, I followed upon it with my internet "dig", and it turns out she was attending The American School in London, where tuition is unthinkably high-priced. She has since graduated, and her online resume indicates she has now attended 4 years at Hahhhh-Vaaad, near Bahhh-stun. See? That, plus other resume-building activities makes me believe she's prolly a devout demmacrat, as well. Her ancestry? Weeeel, the last name is Eastern European, but unless she just had a nice tan in High School, she looks like the Iberian girl next door. Who knows. Anyway, she appears to have family members in the USA & the UK. She has an F-book account, with over 1,000 followers. Yup. Hope that helps you some.

Okay---I'm not going on a lengthy rant about egg-checking and egg-checkers, even though I should. Yup. But, I was sitting-n-watching a video dealing with the subject of Russian Supermarkets, and whether the shelves are bare, as is fabled in popular American Lore. So, they had this guy wheeling a grocerycart around, picking out items, and yes--somethimes the shelves had items out-of-stock. But, they explained--the narrator/cameralady---that yah,it had been a busy day and yes, shoppers had cleaned off the supplyof certain items. Certainly,it did not look any worse than a Wal-Mart. Ha. But--I caught the shopper in the act of "egg-checking", and you'd think that in a Socialist Society, such a person would be arrested and held accountable. Either the firing squad, or 50 years in the lead mines somewhere east of the Urals, 4313as penance. Yup. Thankk Mee. Can't you tell that I'm tee-vee educated?

I remember his funeral, and still have the stuff the secret service provided my family that worked in the funeral home (my first memory). We were neighbors with his cousin, and have several more connections (but he was very local).
Although I do wonder if this was as much a reference to politicians, as it was to people like his old Pendergast connections.
Still hoping someday they open the kill room for visitation in his old hotel haunt.

Okay---one of the very last mOOO-vEEEs that I sat-n-watched was "No Country For Old Men", that I borrowed from a co-worker. I did so,because he was so impressed with that mOOO-vEEE, that I felt it would be best to humor him by doing so. A good rapport with co-workers is VERY important, is it not? Anyway, the film stars Tommie Lee Jones(did I spell that right?), whom I'm sure you all know has played a variety of quirky characters, over the years. He was also in "Men In Black", co-starring with the notorious man-slapper, Will Smith. Yup. Anyway, NCFOM concerns a serial-killer who goes around offing people using a compressed-gas captive-bolt pistol, which normally is used for slaughtering livestock so you can have yummy lockered beef and pork. So, you know it was a big hit in I-wah, because of the subject matter. Yup. Anyway, the takeaway from the story was that the Good Guys don't always prevail. Yup. But yeah--I saw MIB, as well. I did not want to, but someone else nagged me to see it, so I did. I can't recall whether or not the Will Smith character Man-slapped anyone or not, but I will err on the side of caution and say that he did. Yup4318

Okay---I may travel to hollyweird, and present my idea to the various moo-vee companies. I know they are always looking for brilliant ideas, so I'll tell 'em mine. I'll start with Dizzneey Movee Co., home of Mickey Mouse. Plus, the Dizzey Bros were originally from Zurra. Yup. Anyway--- I have an idea for a moo-vee called: "The Nutty Grocery Stocker". It will concern a grocery store employee, who is in charge of stocking the cooler at a large, Grade-A superstore. Okay---the character is played by none other than our boy, Will smith. See, what happens is, the character played by Smith, accosts grocery patrons who are rummaging through the egg cooler, checking eggs. He takes the carton out of their hands, closes it and carefully places it neatly back in the cooler, Then, quicker than a cat, he renders a swift, hard SLAP to the customer, that temporarily renders them senseless. They cannot recall what happened, except that they were checking the eggs, just as they always do. But, this teaches 'em a valuable lesson that they will never forget. Yup. Hopefully, Dizzey will love my idea, and pay mee a smalll fortune for it. After all, it's good, wholesome family entertainmennt. Sure--it may perpetuate the stereotype that black people try and solve ALL problems with violence. But at least he didn't beat him on the head with a stolen handgun, and set the store on fire. Yup. Thankk Mee. Hope that helps you some.4319

Okay---yesterday, it was cold n' damp in Zurra. The catts were on lock down and even though Fuzzy pulled off an escape, it wasn't long before he wanted back in. Okay--couldn't really follow up on outside projects, but in the afternoon USPS dropped off 4 bike inner tubes I ordered outta Madison, Wi. Yes, I coulda gone local on tubes, but I needed a specific type & I don't like to waste time driving to the bike shop(s) to see if they have them in stock. No, not call ahead, either. Don't want to waste their time, either, if what they do have in stock doesn't suit me. See? Anyway, they're 700c x 28, with a long, non-threaded, presta valve stem. The stems are a bit long, but they'll be fine. Just under $30 for 4. 2 to put on, and two for spares. Okay---these are going on my 1987 Trek 1000 bonded aluminum. The various and differing parts of the frame are glued--yup--glued together, and the fork on the 1000 is all steel, made by Tange. Yup. See--some of the bonded al Treks used aluminum forks, too. Don't screw up, and hit a curb; you'll bend it and replacements are hard to find. Anyway, this bike, which I bought as a used frame set on EBay, years ago for $69 plus shipping from Placerville, Ca, is getting another set of wheels. I picked up these rims used, from an F-book seller for $100, several years ago. I figured they were just cheapies(turns out they're not), but now I figure they were taking up space at his place, would not fit anything he currently owned, and would only accept a 9-speed cassette, tubed tires & rim brakes. But, that's what I have, though all the Cool People who are in Professions and the Medical Field have "upgraded" to the very latest things, and would not be caught riding an obsolete bike, like mine. But, anyway--I used the tires I already had, the new toobs, and the second-hand rims, to put the package together. I don't have a photo of this particular bike to offer, right now. That calls for a whole other story. But, I DO have a photo of hollyweird man-slapper Willie Smith to post. Also, of an egg-checker. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.43224323

But I'm not discouraged, now that I got several nice, new pairs of reading glasses at the Dollar store. Reading books was giving me trouble; my Optician also gave me a quote of something like $400 for new specs! Yup. But I got these for $1 each, so now I'm good. Well, haven't they? FNO, mOO-vEEE and tEE-vEEE violence will be limited to----slapping. Yup. In fact, Willie Smith will retire from being in films, and open up a school that coaches hollyweird actors on safe, but realistic slapping techniques! Yup. Hope that helps you some. ThankkMee.4325

Okay---I was saying things like you tube was the be-all and end-all for REAL authoritative tech info, especially compared to tEE-vEE. Well, yah, kinda. But there's a lotta junk info on summa those youtube videos, pertaining to automotive repair. Yup. So, yah--take what you find with some reservation, and cross-checkthe info. One video that I saw late one night was by a young guy who bought a Ford monster pickup that was damaged, from the Copart online salvage auction. There's a copart yard about 20 miles west of here, but they're located nationwide. In the good old days, the general public was not permitted to participate in salvage auctions. You generally had to be a licensed dealer or a salvage yard, or fill out forms and post a security deposit. But, with copart, john q public can bid in most cases. What the subject in the video did was a classic case---I have seen and done this, myself. The kid bid & won on this Ford truck--almost 7 years old. He got it home, and started filming his video, saying he was gonna start tearing into this fixer-upper monster truck, and his buddy(supposedly an expert body shop guy)was gonna help him get it shaped up. The kid confessed that he didn't have all that much experience.......Uh,yeah. He didn';t say what the miles were on the 7 year-old-truck he bought, was, but did give a walk-around of the damage. Well, it hadn't been hit by a train, but obviously had been in a multi-car pile-up, like you see on the newscasts after a winter storm. The front end sheetmetal was wiped out, and it apparently had suspension and frame damage. That's one thing. But the truck was two collisions in one, because the drivers side was hit pretty hard, and the boy thought the frame was damaged underneath, too. But--looking on the bright side, he chirped like a spring robin that the windshield was O.K. Yup. Weell, at this point, I decided to peek at the comments section, to compare my conclusion with that of commenters, and Yup--a fair number told the boy that that wreck was too wrecked to rebuild. Excellent for parts, but not a good rebuilder. On top of the extensive damage requiring COSTLY parts, those "totals" usually have salvage titles or branded titles. They are permanent, even after you repair the vehicle--subsequent titles that are issued will say: "prior salvage" from now on, no matter what. This cuts a significant amount off the resale value, and for good reason. Plus, that kid may have a buddy, but that buddy won't work cheap, if he can do the pulls to straighten that thing out. See? I didn't watch the video to the end. I have also seen several other videos by other young whippersnappers, where they buy an expensive late-model vehicle from a salvage auction, sight unseen except for photos and a brief description online, and drive around 1000 miles one-way, and trailer it home, and then fix it, using all-new dealer parts! Yow. What's the point, if you're gonna be upside-down in the project? So, you-tube is useful and entertaining, but yeah---there's some pure baloney, just like on tEEE-vEEE. Yup. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Okay---i'll tell you something else, that I've known for awhile; prolly before you kids were even born. See--I read a paperback book about General George Patton, who was relieved of his command. Nooooo,it wasn't a Steven King novel. Ha. But, I read it, and ever since, it has raised my awareness about certain subjects. See--he was the General who aroused controversy(like meee) and slapped people(like Willie Smith), but the worst thing he did was speak his frank opinion, which also happened to be The Truth. Yup. It didn't fit the conventional official narrative, that has been passed down and greatly embellished to this day. If you believe what Patton did, and write about it or make speeches on the subject, the very least you will be called is a "revisionist". Yup. Now you know. Hope that helps you some. Thank Mee.

I loved him as Eddie in the Rocky Horror Picture Show Yah, you know what? That really was his claim to fame as essentially a one-hit-wonder, for lack of a better description. He did steal the show, for sure.
But, yeah--his Genre was Theatrical Rock, which is music that is gimmicky and diluted. I, am a music purist. That said, if you want a shining example of that particular Genre translated to REAL music, see the cover of "Bohemian Rhapsody", performed by the students of The School Of Rock, on You Tube. ahh-summ and a-may-zeen, what the kids can do.
