Some kind of freak show is happening in my area. People on bicycles, dressed in black pants with white or black shirts, and with small backpacks, are riding around. Now that is ok EXCEPT that these IDIOTS do not know how to ride a bicycle. They are riding on the left side of the road and come darting out into my lane when I am driving an automobile, you know, one of those things that weigh thousands of pounds that will smash the cyclist in an instant if I do not see the IDIOT cyclist. Or else they are darting around from sidewalk to road, to sidewalk to left side of road.

    W...T...F..

These are adult white people of both genders and they are not young. Something is up. I would have thought "Mormon youth" except that they are not youthful.

Bad drivers of any ilk or type are frustrating. I have a laundry list of things that I find annoying as a cycling commuter, but I try not to "dart".

It's a new thing, 3 of them on Saturday and 1 of them today. They are dressed like servers at restaurants.

My guess is that they're missionaries of some kind.

I've enjoyed Facebook a lot more since I discovered the little down arrow next to the post which sometimes offers me the chance to block all from whatever website the poster copied their crap from. So now I still see friends posts, but the one who was blowing the place up about GMOs, now I only see her "real" posts, not copies from the site she frequents. Likewise politics and religion which used to be banned from polite conversation are now banned from my view of Facebook.

Because she (or they or the culture) expects it to be a certain way. If the mom does nothing, it's pot luck as to what the kids will come up with. I always preferred the pot luck, but many don't.

Looking at the daily frugals thread, I realized that why I don't have many no spend days is I fall into "latte habits" (I guess I'm peeved at myself - although it's kinda whatever), the one I'm in now is decaf tea (that I'm sure has a small amount of caf). And I realized this (one of the coffee chains) at least online seems to sell it in bags and I could save about $1.30 a day buying it that way (since I always have cream or half and half around anyway). When I was a serious caffeine consumer I fell into an actual latte habit with literal lattes. But now I've fallen into this because it has a very manageable amount of caffeine (yea I know what it's like for me to consume more caffeine and it's not good - in fact none at all might be best but it's so tempting ) - and well when the coffee chain is on the lower floor of your work building - that's how easy it is to get a "latte habit"!

So that and sometimes picking up some lunch at TJs before work if I've been too overwhelmed (tired/moody) to prepare any is mostly why I do spend most days. And I buy gas for the car when needed, occasionally I order something online but infrequently, and weekly groceries. Honestly most days I'm too tired to really shop. My shoes are definitely getting holes and instead of buying new shoes I put "buy new shoes" on a personal paper spend/wish list I'm keeping. I go through life in a state of too exhausted to even be a good consumer - and do much of anything else - I don't have that much occasion to post to the chores I got done today threads either as I'm too tired. And that I am peeved at. But live closer to work (or vice versa) is all I've got as a solution to that, I'm out of options. They expect (paid) overtime of us sometimes but go bonkers if we leave early.

Reader99 - thank you, thank you, thank you!
I have 2 avid (almost rabid) dog rescuers in my bunch from 2 different areas of the country... I am so grateful for the awesome work they do to save innocent animals...
but I already have a wonderful rescue dog and do NOT need to see every cat & dog in shelters in 2 different tri-state areas.
The level of posts they crank out is astounding -- I didn't want to block them all the way and miss out on stuff I do want to know.

    Got in a car accident!!
Rear-ended - luckily no one was hurt and the damage is fixable.
I've got this awful little Kia rental while my car is being repaired - really makes me appreciate my Scion!
I sure was shaky for the whole day after it happened. Still a little shaky today, actually.
