I’ve struggled to know what category I fit into these last 5 months.

    Retired?
    Disabled?
    Unemployed?
    Quarantined?

Each requires a different mindset, approach, plan ...

I’ve decided my category is “Alive”. And forget the plans. Just do my best each day.

It’s forced mindfulness. Staying in the moment. And some good food lately.

Pulled some beef strips out of the freezer. Not sure what I'll do with them yet.

Last night was a pasta bake (with leftovers for tomorrow night). 2 packages ratatouille and 1 package of braised greens, 1# of fresh pasta from our CSA, layered with grated mozzarella and topped with fresh grated parmesan.

Tonight: baked chicken, the leftover squash from Friday night and a piece of the fresh focaccia that came with our CSA this week.

It's a regional term, the universal name would be a smoked pork shoulder butt. Very Tasty!

A loaf of buttermilk rye bread, cooling after being baked in a 9-inch Pullman pan.

Smells like I imagine heaven does.
