No, not in a union. I am a non-sworn employee at a Police Department. Only the sworn people have that sort of thing. Normally the only pay increase I would get was a cost of living increase but the City hasn't done that in a few years either. I heard a rumor that we might see a 1% increase. I also obtained a Professional Certificate by attending a 14 hour class and taking a 50 question test . My title went from Property Clerk to Property Specialist but even that didn't warrant anything except getting a free day off.

Congrats, Klunick! Even though I did well, I always hated the annual evaluations. All Outstanding is wonderful!!!!

To those folks out there ranting and raving over things they believe others are personally inconveniencing them about - irregardless of any consideration for those other people! Thanks for the giggle.

Happy my two babies (cats) were so well behaved at the vet. Went full feral on us trying to chase them and get them into the carriers and cried pretty much the entire way over but were quiet and well behaved once we got there and the entire way home.

I love it that DH's Bronco Sport is big enough for us to take yard waste to the dump! We got the $25 sticker that allows us access for the season. My town has very limited curbside pickup dates for yard waste, one in the spring and 3 in the fall, and you aren't supposed to include brush or branches. It is wonderful to be able to get rid of all this stuff soon after generating it, and not having to hold onto it for months. It's actually a town composting area, so that is a good thing too. Our yard is really too small to dedicate too much space to composting. So I get very excited about going to the dump on Saturday mornings!

Rosa yard waste pickup is the highlight of some of my weeks, but usually they don't do their job and I have to call and complain. They are blaming post-covid labor shortages but the problems predated covid.

I share your appreciation for waste pickup. I always feel so grateful when the garbage and recycling are picked up early once a week. They are a really good and conscientious crew. I often have garbage out just once a month and recycling even less than that. This year the garden waste was picked up every two weeks in spring season, once a month in summer and the fall cleanup will be every other week for 5 pickups. Waste disposal including sewage and clean water are my most treasured services of living in town compared to my farm life. Well, OK, the high speed internet going from dial-up in the rural area to 350kbps in town is another. These are all worthy of a 'rave'.

I dug up some glad bulbs when I left Michigan and threw them in a box in the barn. I planted them in my tiny garden here and they are doing beautifully, way better than they did there, for some reason!

My poor baby Boone must be annoyed with his sister and needs some alone time underneath my comforter. Man, I love this cat. Sweetest thing in the world but has Satan herself for a little sister.
