Maybe the rational Republicans should have purged their party of clowns like Boebert, Taylor-Green, Jordan, Gohmert, and countless others. The never-Trumpers represent the very best of what the party used to be.

That isn’t “a slap on the wrists” in my book. Taking someone’s liberty away for
2 months is a big deal.
For trying to overthrow the government and doing damage? ? Two months is just a slap. IMO. If you are talking about Jenna Ryan ? ? She bragged about her involvement. Make the penalty huge so this stupidly doesn’t happen again!

They continue to try to fool you that they are helping you out. But they’re not. Because a lot of money, it’s going to trees. Don’t we have enough trees around here?”
Walker is, of course, attacking the recently passed and signed Inflation Reduction Act, which, despite its name, is the nation’s biggest, most comprehensive effort to combat global warming. …”

This man gets it, Trees are The Enemy.

Wow, what a coincidence. I just finished reading an article from a link sent to all the VT Master Gardeners. Great response to Hershall Walker who thinks that trees are irrelevant. IL, I truly don't understand how you think trees are the enemy.

I can see why the idiot Walker is attacking trees. A little while back he explained that our air pollution problems were because China was exporting their pollution to us or some such nonsense. It only makes sense that he’s push back against any other narrative.

(Admittedly claiming that anything he says ‘makes sense’ is a stretch. That dude comes across as the poster child for how harmful football is for human brains).

That is a nice article, and I may even forward it. However, as a part of a stronger argument for the sake of trees, he missed the birds that use them for nesting, food, and cover or I didn't see it. I'd call that a major oversight.

Agreed--and he focused primarily on the benefits of trees in the urban environment. All true and good benefits, but I would also liked to have seen a nod to the importance of the carbon sequestration of old-growth forest--as well as the importance of wildlife habitat as you said.

Oh I think it goes farther than talking themselves into believing they are the saviors of the nation. I see Charlie Crist in Florida is comparing himself to Jesus Christ running against “DeSatan”. In his more modest moments, he’s merely Zelensky.

Sure a lot more fun than talking about inflation or crime, isn’t it?

Your diversionary tactic is not working. Can’t argue jp1’s response so try to divert the issue…. yup, not working.

Meanwhile the republicans just keep getting more and more open about their outright contempt for our government and constitution with their senate candidate from Ohio openly suggesting that we simply ignore the rule of law. It's sad and quite terrifying that they would rather throw the country away rather than attempt to come up with policies that might appeal to a majority of voters. But sure, lets get the ****ing conversation back to inflation and tax cuts for the rich. Un****ing believable how willfully clueless some people are.
