Rob, from what I have gather for our SL discussions you have a polite and sincere way of expressing opinions, sometimes to the contrary, and also listen to feedback and criticisms openly and constructively. Thank You, each and every one of you, for your kind words. I'm about to take off with SO for Las Cruces, New Mexico and also El Paso for a few days and then Nogales on the way back to visit in-laws.
My Mother actually got teary eyed when I told her of my promotion. She said I make her and Austria proud. And my family in Vienna was congratulatory as were my in-laws in Nogales, MX. It has been so nice to have all this support. I do feel like Sally Field at the Oscar's- You really like me lol.
At any rate, I took 7 days of PTO. I still have 11 days in my PTO bank after this and next trip - either Bogota or Manilla if and when the world simmers down a bit.
Ending by saying - I really am fortunate. I do believe hard work had something to do with this but also I believe luck was also involved. Had not the tenp banquet service promoted me and had the pandemic not happened, I doubt I'd be here. Part of it is also seizing the day and making the most you can of your abilities/strengths and also behaving agreeably at work.
