I agree with you that the storyline was bland with too pat of an ending, but her performance was a tour de force. She was in every frame of that film, and she owned it. She is British, another nugget in her favor. I enjoyed seeing Steven Root make brief appearances, and Allison Janney put in her usual strong performance. I was also glad to see the kid from TV’s “Bloodline.”

I’m always amazed at how well the British actors do in crossing the pond and portraying Americans. There’s so many good examples, but the one that sticks in my mind is the cast of tv’s “Succession” especially Matthew MacFayden who’s playing a Minnesota guy.
