So, while all the computer networks were burning to the ground today thanks to Crowdstrike I was at Humane taking care of all the adorable kitties. These three little girls, Toffee, Taffy, and Ribbon, are new arrivals i'd never met before. They are in one of the "townhouses". Basically 2x2 feet with four floors. Tiny. Especially for three young energetic girls. They had WRECKED their space. Knocked over the food and water bowls, all the bedding was in the bottom in a big pile, etc, because they are so playful. As soon as I opened the door to their space they all immediately jumped out into the shared area and started playing with all the toys, having the best time of their lives. After I finished cleaning up their mess I left them out to play and cleaned up a couple other spaces. Twenty minutes or so later I put them back in their space. Five minutes after that I took this picture. They had obviously worn themselves out because they were all about to fall asleep.

Oh so cute! It has always been incomprehensible to me that there are cats begging for homes. I would think it more reasonable that they would all be considered valuable treasures that one had to pay large sums of money for and be on a waiting list or something.

Well said, RR. But yeah----at one time, I actually enjoyed visiting animal shelters. That is---until I worked at one. Now, I feel very(x4444) uncomfortable going to one for any reason. Yup.

Here is our new addition. We adopted her from the local kitten rescue; she and her litter of 6 had been left out on a country road in a cardboard box. She is completely in charge of the house now. I have to keep an eye on her; she's a little thief! We're thinking of renaming her Snoopy because she is. She spends her waking hours seeing what she can get into and abscond with. The shelter (she'd been there 4 months; her kittens were all adopted) had named her Beauty Mama, but we just call her Booty (or Bootylicious or Girly).

    Yeah, life's tough.

My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished two bags of M&Ms and a chocolate cake. I feel better already!

Kay, it’s great that you got another cat. I know you’re missing your previous cat, but this girl will keep your household occupied.

Oh those three kittens are adorable! And the kitty mama knows she's in a good place now! Keep the cat photos coming!

Cat caretakers know this to be true.

Congratulations, Kay! Congratulations, Booty! Booty won the homeless kitty jackpot!
