I notice there aren't many details in all the accusations and speculation going around recently. From what I've heard so far this all seems to me that an external audit has met the entrenched resistance. I guess time will tell what's really happening.

I would not fly an American based carrier at the moment. Suddenly it seems far too risky. There are numerous foreign airlines with stellar service vs what you endure on an American based airline in the name of corporate profit. Domestically I'd Amtrak it if possible or Flex Bus if possible (I'd also avoid Greyhound). Rob

Sounds like you’d be happiest on the Soviet-era Aeroflot.

I don't have the time nor inclination to take a more than 2,000 mile train or bus ride to St. Louis and back so I will take my chances on a cramped economy flight which was booked two months ago. But what I will do is bring my own snacks per usual becuase it really angers me how much food & drink is in the airports. I bring sliced apple, walnuts, raisins, beef or turkey jerky and buy one bottle of water after going through the TSA line. I just refill the bottle at the drinking fountains as needed.

But I digress from my original post. This is from WaPo (I discontinued my subscription but still have access until March). What I haven't seen anywhere in legacy media is any sort of pushback about this. Has anyone else?

There’s an article in the NYT. I first read about it in Wired, which is actually a great source.

Check out the Reddit subreddit Fednews for what is happening as it is happening. People are linking legacy media coverage and communications from people like Congressmen and union leadership. You'll be seeing what they are sending out to the legacy media in hopes that they will report these stories.

Flying a non-US carrier in the US with our shitty ATC system isn’t going to do shit.

The DC accident happened due to the helicopter flying too high. If you had actually bothered to read about the unique situation with DC Reagan airport, you would have seen that. There have been warnings from pilots and ATC for years about the amount of flights AND all the helicopters. It’s also a tough airport to fly into/out of due to the closed airspace over the Mall, Capital, White House, etc.

Your theory is that foreign airlines are not run by corporations, for profit?

Think his theory is the Airlines of this country, are run with a death count in mind, like trains to concentration camps.

Nothing to do with profit, or air traffic controllers on the civilian end (who have no access to the military aircraft side).
