I've never used an online dating site. However, I have met interesting people of the opposite sex on forums similar to this.
The thing that one must remember is that an online relationship can be pretty misleading because one or both parties may reveal only what they want.
Kinda makes it difficult to get a realistic view of the other person.
That being said, more than once I felt like I had a real connection with what seemed to be some really nice ladies. Went as far as actually meeting with two of them. We had spent a lot of time communicating and shared plenty of photos. But when meeting face to face there was just no chemistry or attraction, it was pretty disappointing. For me at least, part of a true connection is being attracted to someones mannerisms and personality, which is hard to see online and not in person.
Does this make me a shallow person or just a realist?
