I made them in the beginning but found a lady on Etsy whose gnomes I liked more so all the ones decluttered yesterday were bought from her. I decluttered or gave away the ones I made years ago.

I realized that I would go onto Etsy and see gnomes that I loved but wouldn't think about where they could go in my house. Then I would have to find space for when when the time came and things would look cluttered. Even the cabinet where I store them looks so much better now that I decluttered yesterday.

While looking at pictures yesterday, I am going to really have to declutter some stuff at Easter. My mantle looked so cluttered and I don't want that anymore. Plus the more things I had on the mantle, the longer it took to make it look nice. Now that I am determined to keep it simple, it goes a lot quicker.

Decided not to wait and decluttered the Easter pieces now. I find it easier to declutter decor when it's not the season/holiday the decor is for. Less attached to it.

I imagine you have tubs and tubs of decor. Will you ever get to the end of it?

Actually I don't. I only decorate the kitchen (very minimally) and the living room. Most of the tubs have multiple seasons/holidays in them
. And each tub is the size that fits under beds so they really don't hold a lot. I do have one large tub for larger or outdoor items but the rest are under the bed type. All the wreaths I have are hung on the wall inside the decor closet so they don't take up any floor space.

Everything is contained in a small under the basement stairs closet and I have ample room to walk in there. I am by no means over run with decor.

I must be really bored this weekend because I seem to be decluttering up a storm of decor items, although I did get rid of a bath mat that no longer stayed in place when stepped on.

    More decor decluttered...
    A Christmas gnome
    A Fall leaves garland
    Two Christmas inflatables
Two of those Christmas light things that you drape over bushes

As always, thanks for the encouragement, Rosorugosa!

I returned 6 items to stores today. New total: 22. Inching towards my 100 items goal.

I must say that going through pictures of how my house was decorated in the past seems to be the best way for me to see what needs to be decluttered. I went through all my seasonal/holiday decor and literally only found one thing to declutter and it was part of a set that I had already decluttered.

I went and looked through my pictures again and really analyzed them as to what was just put somewhere so it would have a place or what things I wasn't that in love with and wouldn't be sad if gone. That made a world of difference!!

So much more is now going!!!

A piece from a Fall tiered tray set that all other pieces have already been decluttered.
    Three large Rae Dunn gnomes
A "bunny butts" garland that was hard to hang every year
    A stuffed snowman
    A HoHoHo sign
    Two ghosts
    A Snow sign
    Three Christmas tree ornaments
    A Love sign
    A Valentine's Day gnome

I think I am done with my decor for the time being. Things may change once they get put out in the upcoming months.

Wow, Klunick! You are getting rid of a LOT. That's fantastic.

I packed up a bunch of gifts and hand-me-downs for my brother's family that have been sitting in a corner of my bedroom for a few months (!!) and got them into the mail finally: 11 items.

I also returned 6 items to stores.

    New total for month: 39.

I lied. A Winter gnome went bye bye today.
