Klunick, We had painting done 10 years ago and I moved all the "thngs" and pictures up into the attic...I waited and only brought back a few items that I remembered..not checking the attic first. Also asked husband if there was anything he wanted to have put back. I don't miss any of them. So, that may happen for you. Congratulations on the insight of what you like.

I can't wait to see the difference over the upcoming months. Hopefully it's noticeable especially Fall and Christmas which I seem to have the most decor for. One thing I'm going to do when I decorate for Christmas is not put out the stockings until Christmas Eve when they get filled and then put them away Christmas Day. Not sure why but those 6 stockings hanging is too much for my brain. Living room goes from ok to suffocating just by having those out for some reason. Too much in a small space, I guess.

I am using this purge thread as therapy. Haha!! Got so tired of going back and forth on the large gnomes and tiered tray decor so I came home from work and bagged them up.

I had decluttered so much seasonal stuff that there was enough room to stick the little gnomes in the coordinating bins. Now... my armoire is empty !! Well.. at least the cabinet part. The drawers still have work clothes and jeans in them which is fine.

I attacked clothes and threw away tons of things I’ve been saving going back at least eight years. If it doesn’t fit today, it’s gone. If I don’t like it today, it’s gone.

Klunick, it sounds like you are making amazing progress.

I took 9 more items to Goodwill and gave away three things on Buy Nothing, so my final total for the month (I leave for vacation tomorrow) is 134.

I'm looking forward to getting rid of more in late August!

Photos and seasonal decor were really the only two things left that needed to be gone through. I did the photos last month and decor this month. I am going to try to stick to the mantra "If I don't need it, don't get it." Would I like a new Fall wreath to replace my current one?? Yes but the current one is fine so I don't need a new one. Seemed to work yesterday when I went to the seasonal decor mecca yesterday.... Hobby Lobby. I had never been in one but heard they are amazing and it's true. When I walked it, it was like I was in my happy place. Haha!!! I looked around quickly because I needed to get to an appointment and am happy to report, no purchases were made.

Finally shredded and recycled the last stack of papers that have been sitting behind my desk chair.
