For a start, I can’t see the nobel going to a convicted felon or someone who tried to overthrow our government!
Over the weekend, 407 HS codes were added to the list of HS codes subject to steel/aluminum duties. This even includes things such as perfume, which probably includes the bit of metal in the sprayer on the bottle. What this means in practice is that the supplier has to break out the steel/aluminum (and copper) content value from the non-steel/aluminum/copper value. Otherwise, the entire value of the product is hit with the 50% duty.
That seems kind of insane. It reminds me of a movie, Conspiracy, with Stanley Tucci and Kenneth Branagh and Colin Firth. Seems apropos.
That is insane, Tradd. How do people believe that this type of nonsense is NOT going to hit the consumer?

There may be something to that. However, I asked the question in response to another poster's question of "Nobel Prize for what?" to subtly point out that not so long ago another President was awarded the prize not for anything he had done, but rather for perceived aspirations for what he might do. Given the current President's ongoing efforts to secure peace throughout multiple regions in the world, I would think the answer to her original question would be self evident.
