    Covid booster anyone?

Every fall for the last couple or few years I've gotten a covid booster a bit before the Holiday season crowds and people mixers. This year my doctor said it's a personal choice, but he is no longer advocating it. His reasoning is that of the cases he is aware of the symptoms are mostly cold like with the current strain circulating around. Also, people who have had covid and a few boosters already have a residual immunity to prevent serious infections. I'm undecided, as I usually get a reaction of a sore arm and some general malaise for a few days afterward. I usually plan for the shot when I don't have events on the calendar for a couple of days.

Interestingly, he did recommend the flu shot, which I always get with no problems and is not an issue with me.

Eh, not going to bother with covid shot this year. Will probably get flu vax, as I usually do.

Haven't gotten a booster for a few years. Not since we were still wearing masks and my work mandated it.

I will get one, although I haven't yet. I don't get a reaction, so I don't see any reason not to get it.

I don’t know. Maybe, maybe not. not because I’m opposed to it, I just may not get around to it.

No. Got 3 of them. I always have a reaction. I was wondering about titer tests and came across this.

Has anyone done this or heard of someone who has? Scam?

Due to reactions, not going to do another if I can help it.

Asked my doctor, she said ask the pharmacist if it is a different strain, formula than the one we had in May. It is, so we will get it in November, then the Flu shot, too. I don't like to do them at the same time. No real reactions since the first one, we're 76 and just feel better hiving it. Especially if many people are NOT getting them.

I watched a few minute video clip of Senator Rand Paul grilling the former CDC head about changing the inoculation schedule for children, specifically, COVID shots.

The data seems to show this inoculation is not beneficial, or at least not robustly Beneficial, for children and should not be on the list of recommendations.

I'd probably read the JAMA reference before making conclusions. A doctor fact checks Rand.
