If we are talking about what if scenarios, I'd like to see a few dozen billion dollars of my tax money used to solve the homeless issues, rather than rounding up the the guys outside of Home Depot who want to work, even if it's a day job. My experience working with housing issues is that it is one of those problems that can’t be solved simply with money. NIMBY zoning is one obstacle. The legal and administrative issues around people with mental health or drug issues are particularly tricky. Look at those people freezing to death in New York recently.
