As you, Rob, make one of your infrequent appearances here to denounce the United States, I want you to tell us about your trip south of the border this summer where you will be checking out a country to move to.

Last year you said you would be doing it this summer. I can’t remember which country you settled on. I don’t mean Mexico, there was another country.

Do you have your trip booked? What country are you going to?

You keep expousing the virtues of Mexico. Go live there or quit complaining.

Ecuador, in July. I am waiting on Corporate to sign off on two weeks vacation mid to end July and once approved, we will book tickets though who knows how this will work with jet fuel scarcity due to this insane and utterly unjustifiable war?

There is an update also since you ask. Given Mexico's recent adoption of health care for all citizens, Mexico is now on the table, too - though it's harder to swing economically. Rob

When I was 19, I lived in Mexico for a summer. Hueras were cosidered a good catch that summer. Met a cute Mexican guy but he didn't speak English so I had to learn the language quickly. Upon my pending return by train (long time ago), my mother received a phone call demanding ransom for my return and had to involve the FBI to get me back to TX. Some things never change there...

He won't. Mexico won't take him, IMO, because he doesn't have enough $$. That's my theory at least. All talk about how wonderful MX is, yet won't move there. Hmmm.

This prompted me to look up immigration standards for Mexico and yes, they have surprisingly high requirements for income or assets.
