I often think I would like to have a nice quality watch, a pretty vintage one like this, but they are almost always bracelet styles, right? I can’t wear a bracelet watch, it’s too distracting as it shifts up and down my arm. I think it would also irritate my skin wearing it while I’m gardening and sweating and getting dirty.
This is an expansion band, rather than a true bracelet watch. So it fits snugly and does not shift up and down your arm. Stainless steel might work for you--I just bought one today for the Helbros and it said to wash it with soap and water at least once a month. A lot of nurses wear the expansion bands because you can get the band wet and soapy and slide it up your arm to wash your hands.

Women's watches are really cheap right now--apparently the resale values are very low, as in non-existent, so it might be worth a try. I like the Swiss ones that are less popular names. I am a huge fan of Tissot, and this new Pesag is cool, and Bucherer is a cool less known brand.
