oh for heaven sakes it’s funny. Donroe Doctrine.

The man can (sometimes) deliver a line which even his haters should be able to admit.

The Snopes fact checker offered some explanations for me.

Did Congress authorize us to get involved with and support anti Gaddafi militants in Libya with the express purpose of effecting regime change through Muammar's overthrow? I think Obama and Clinton may have established a precedent in this sort of thing.

I'm glad you agree, then. I suspect I didn't understand completely what you were saying. or it was incomplete.

I guess the bottom line I got from snopes is that Venezuela did not steal us oil and Trump lied about it, among other details. Maybe that's what you were getting at.

Thanks for posting. Here is an interesting section:
Experts agreed, without hesitation, that any use of force by Trump to recover U.S. oil industry-related assets would violate international law.)

    Venezuelan oil belongs to Venezuela

It is a fundamental principle of international law: Countries have total ownership and control (in academic terms, "permanent sovereignty") over their own natural resources. That includes oil, said both Rodríguez and Milena Sterio, an expert in international law at Cleveland State University.

Supposedly, according to trump, billions of US$ will be infused into the oil infrastructure. Surely, there will be no gains for the US ..SNARK! Looks like a political takeover to enrich certain entities TBD.

Sure does not make me proud to be an American!

Okay, the only thing close to a question I saw in your post which I responded to was "From what I understand, congressional approval was required in this situation before action … which was not done. It is dubious if this action is even legal by some news sources? ". My reply had to do with that. If there was another question hidden somewhere, I'd be happy to discuss it.
